Seven SSP's Promoted To The Rank Of DIG WIth Effect From 08th Of December
Seven senior Superintendents Of Police (SSP) have
been promoted to the rank of Deputy Director General Of Police (DIG) by the Inspector General Of Police
(IGP)Pujitha Jayasundara with effect frim 08th of December.
These promotions have been given by as per the instructions of National Police Commission.
Accordingly SSP's S,B Ratnayake,C.A Premashantha,L.K.J.G.S Pieris,K.N.J Wadhisinghe,K.P.M Gunaratne,A.H.M.W.C.K Alahakoon and L.H.K.W.K Silva have been promoted to DIG rank.

Exice Department Officers Destroyed A Cannabis Cultivation At Thanamalvila Area
The officers attached to Anti Narcotic Bureau of Excise
Department have yesterday (23) raided a two acre Cannabis Cultivation in Kudaoya at Thanamalwila area which maintained on the pretext of a cattle farm and arrested two persons worked there .
The Anti Narcotic Bureau officials have also destroyed the Cannabis Cultivation worth around Rs.10 million according to the sources.
The two suspects were produced before the Wellawaya Magistrate Court and the Magistrate has imposed a fine of Rs.5000 each from them.

Two Persons Were Arrested While Engaging In Illicit Liquor Trade
The special police task force personal had been
arrested two persons illegally engaging in illicit liquor trade at Bevaraliya in Deniyaya area (Southern Province).
Along with the suspects the Police have taken into custody 20,000 mili liters of illicit liquor and 180,000 mili liters of Goda (a raw material used to make illicit liqour)in their possession.
The special police task force personal had handed over the arrested suspects along with the stock of illicit liquor to Deniyaya Police for further investigations.
