Sri Lanka Navy Have Arrested Seven Indian Fisheremen While Illegally Fishing In Sri Lankan Waters
Sri Lanka Navy with assistance of coast guards have arrested seven Indian Fishermen while illegally fishing in Sri Lankan waters at North West of Delft Island(Northern Province) this morning(20) according to Navy sources.
Navy Officers have also taken into custody two fishing trawlers along with the fishermen who arrived in from Jegadapattinam Hamlet in Pudukottai District,Tamil Nadu.
The arrested Indian fishermen and trawlers were handed over to the Assistant Fisheries Director in Jaffna for future course of action the Navy sources have stated.

Government To Import 10,000 Metric Tonnes Of Rice During Next Werk
Government is due to import 10,000 metric tonnes of
Samba and Nadu Rice to Sri Lanka during next week and will be issued to the consumers for Rs.50-60 per kilo gramme according to the Minister Of Rural Economy affairs P.Harrison.
The prices of Rice in the local market are on the rise according to the reports.
Due to this situation government has decided to issue 195,000 metric tonnes of paddy to the local market out of the 200,000 metric tonnes available in government stores .
The prices of Rice in local market is on the increase due to some Rice Mill owners and businessmen had created a fake Rice shortage in the market Minister had Stated.
