Postal Unions To Launch 48 Hour Strike From Midnight Tonight
The Allied Postal Trade Unions Front is due to launch a 48 hour strike with effect from midnight tonight by demanding solutions for seven of their service demands according to the Unions Front.
After the discussions held with Postal Minister Abdul Hakeem failed ,Postal Unions have decided to launch the strike action the Allied Postal Trade Unions Front has stated.
Postal Unions are demanding solutions for seven demands including removal of irregularities occurred in recruitment and promotion procedure of Postal Workers.

Airport Customs Have Arrested Three Foreigners With Rs.11.6 Million Worth Foreign Currency Notes
Airport customs Officers have last night(18) arrested three foreigners while attempting to smuggle Rs.11.6 million worth Foreign Currency notes out of the country at Katunayake,Bandaranaike International Airport.
The three foreigners from Lebanon,Egypt and Palestine had been arrested with the Foreign Currency notes hidden in their luggage and cloths while they were attempting to board a flight to Qatar it has been reported.
Airport Customs Officers have recovered 76,782 US Dollars ,200 Euros and 110 British Pounds in possession of the suspects.The suspects were later released and recovered Foreign Currency Notes had been confiscated according to the Customs Officers.
Airport Customs are conducting an investigation on the incident.

A luxury jeep belonging to the son of a Government
state minister was taken into custody by the Cinnamon Garden police yesterday (18) regarding an accident occurred near viharamahadevi park in Town Hall last(Colombo) Saturday (17) night which one person was injured.
The state minister's son who appeared before Cinnamon Garden police yesterday (18)morning was released on police bail.Police are conducting further investigations on the incident.
