Police Raided An Illegal Cattle Slaughter House In Welisara And Arrested Six Persons Including The Owner

Officers attached to Fraud control unit of the
Panadura-walana police had yesterday (16) raided an illegal cattle slaughter house situated at Welisaramulla in Welisara (Colombo) and arrested six persons including the owner of slaughter house.

During the raid Police Officers had also taken into custody  24 buffaloes who were due to be slaughtered and a lorry used to transport buffaloes it has been reported.

Slaughtering buffaloes for meat is banned in Sri Lanka.

The owners of the cattle slaughter house disposed  the waste of the house to Muthurajawela area it has been reported,


President Sirisrna Requested Malaysian Investors To Invest In Sri Lanka

President Maihripala Sirisena had requested the
Malaysia's business community to invest in Sri Lanka as the Sri Lankan government is ready to provide all the facilities for foreign investors during a meeting he held with Investors in Malaysia on last Thursday (15),

The meeting was attended by a large number of investors from Sri Lanka and Malaysia and it was organized by the export boards ,investment development boards and offices of the High Commissioners in Sri Lanka and Malaysia as a part of the Sri Lankan president's Malaysian tour.

During the discussions an attention was paid on  expanding of  the new trade opportunities the President's Media Division has announced.

Colombo Fort Magistrate Has Ordered to Further Remand Former Ambassador To USA

The Colombo Fort Magistrate haa today (16) further
remanded the former Sri Lankan Ambassador to United States Of America  Jaliya Wikramasuriya who waa arrested and remanded over misusing of state funds while at office until 23rd of December.

The Police financial crimes Investigation Division(FCID)oficials  have arrested the suspect on 17th of November when he prepared to leave the country at Katunayake International Airport.

The former Sri Lankan Ambassador to USA had been charged for accepting a commission of US Dollars 332,000 when awarding contract to renovate the Sri Lankan embassy in Washington D.C.

World Bank Has Decided To Grant US Dollars 1340 Million Soft Loan To Sri Lanka

World Bank has decided to grant Sri Lanka a soft loan
of  US Dollars 1340 million for  low interest rate according to  Minister Of Finance Ravi Karunanayake.

World Bank has informed Sri Lankan government this morning(16) that it will granted US Dollars 900 million from international Bank of Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and US Dollars 440 million from International Development Assistance (IDA) for a three year period the Finance minister has stated.
