Police Arrested A Bus Driver Who Had Stolen 23 Gold chains

Police have arrsted a 38 year old Private Bus Driver
living in Maththegoda area who had stolen 23 Gold Chains at alhena in Maharagama (Colombo).

The suspect had morgaged the  23 stolen Gold Chains to a pawn center according to the Police.


Southern Provincial Council 's Agriculture Minister To Resign From His Post Following The Budget Defeat

Agriculture Minister attached to Southern Provincial
Council U.G.D Ariyathilake has decided to resign from his  post next week  folowing the defeat of his Ministry's budget yesterday (09).

The Minister has accused that opposition MP's along with few MP's belonging to United National Party are behind the defeat of his Ministry' s budget.

Police Have Arrested A Three Wheeler Driver And His Assistant For Robbing Houses

Kahathuduwa Police have arrested a Three Wheeler
driver and his assistant who had been involved in several burglaries of houses at Maharagama and Kahathuduwa areas(Colombo).

A Three Wheeler which the suspects have used for burglaries too taken in to custody by the Police.

Police have recovered stocks of gems,jewelry ,mobile phones and cameras given to a pawn center by the suspects it has been reported.

Five warrents had issued against the two suspects by Gangodawila Magistrate Court previously according to the Police.

Five Complaints On Fraud And Corruption Of Northern Provincial Council Ministers Received So Far-Provincial Chief Minister

Five complaints had been received so far on  fraud
and corruption activities of few Northern Provincial Council Ministers  to the three member committee appointed to inquire on fraud and corruption according to the chief minister of Northern Province C.V Vigneshwaren.

A three member committee comprising of two retired judges and a district secretary had appointed to inquire on fraud and corruption of Northern Privuncial Council"s cabinet ministers and the departments and institutes attached to them.

Haul Of Cocaine Recovered From A Ship In Colombo Worth Rs.12 Billion--Police

The haul of Cocaine recovered from a foreign ship
docked at Colombo Port today (09) is worth around Rs.12 billion according to the Police.

Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB)officials had recovered over 800 Kilo Grammes of Cocaine from a ship arrived in Colombo Port from Ecuador heading towards India which transporting timber.This is the largest haul of Cocaine recovered in South Asia it has been revealed.

PNB officials inspected the ship as per a court order received based on a tip off.
