Badulla High Court Has Passed A Death Sentence To A Person Over A Murder At Welimada

court order සඳහා පින්තුර ප්‍රතිඵලBadulla High Court has today(25) sentenced a person who found guilty  over a killing of another  person at Welimada area in 2003 to death .

The suspect who is a resident in Uva Paranagama area had been arrested upon his arrival to the country from abroad and produced  before the court.

Awissawella High Court Has Sentenced 18 Persons To Death Over A Killing Of An Estate Superintendent

Awissawella High Court has today(25) sentenced 18 persons including the former chairman of Deraniyagala Pradeshiya Saba Anil Champika Wijesinghe to death over the killing of Estate Superintendent in Noori Estate Nihal Perera at Deraniyagala.

The accused were sentenced to death after they have found guilty for the killing of an Estate Superintendent .

Altogether 21 persons were charged over the killing but the Awissawella High Court Judge has ordered to release 03 of them from the charges.

Fines Collected Through Road Traffic Violations Will Be Utilized To Improve Health And other Sectors -Finance Minister

The fines collected from road traffic violations will be
utilized to improve the health sector and other essential services in the country the Minister Of Finance Ravi Karunanayake has stated today (24).

Minister has also stressed that the aim of  increasing fine for road traffic violations is to reduce road traffic accidents and not to increase the income of government.

When imposing the increased fine the latest technology will be used to ensure the transparent process minister has stated.
