Fines Collected Through Road Traffic Violations Will Be Utilized To Improve Health And other Sectors -Finance Minister
The fines collected from road traffic violations will be
utilized to improve the health sector and other essential services in the country the Minister Of Finance Ravi Karunanayake has stated today (24).
Minister has also stressed that the aim of increasing fine for road traffic violations is to reduce road traffic accidents and not to increase the income of government.
When imposing the increased fine the latest technology will be used to ensure the transparent process minister has stated.

All Ceylon Motor Cyclists Union Has Requested To Revise The Decision Of Imposing Rs.25,000 Fine For Traffic Violations
The All Ceylon Motor Cyclists Union has requested the
Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake to revised the decision on imposing a fine of Rs.25,000 for charges on high speed and turning from the left .
As banners on high speed limits not displayed on the roads it is unfair to increase the fine to Rs.25,000 on such offences the Union has stressed.
The Motor Cyclists Union has requested the finance minister to impose fines for traffic violations based on the status of vehicles.

Judicial Services Commission has sent Colombo
District Court Judge Ayesha Abdeen on compulsory leave with immediate effect on charges of visiting Prison Hospital to meet former Parliamentarian Duminda Silva who is in the death row .
It has been revealed that Duminda Silva who was sentenced to death over killing of four persons including former MP Bharatha Lakshman Premachandre and currently in Prison Hospital has been sent to Kotte,Sri jayawardenapura Hospital under the influence of District Court Judge Abdeen .However Jayawardenapura Hospital authorities had reverted Duminda Silva back to the prison hospital.
After the local media has given a wide publicity to this incident, Judicial Services Commission discussed the matter and taken the decision to act against the judge.

An Unidentified Gunman Had Shot And Killed A Person At Minuwangoda
An unidentified Gunman who arrived from a Motor Cycle had shot and killed a person in Peelawatte area at Minuwangoda this morning according to the Police.
The gunman has fled away the scene after the shooting and Police have launched a search operation to arrest him.
The body of the deceased has been sent to Minuwangoda Hospital for the post mortem.
