Late W.A.D Amaradeva's Body Lying At Independence Square


All Liquor Stores/Meat Stalls/Cinema Halls In Colombo City To Be Closed Tomorrow(04) Due To The Funeral Of Late Amaradeva

All Liquor Stores ,meat stalls and Cinema Halls within the Colombo Municipal Council limits will be closed tomorrow (04) as a tribute of late Pandith W.A.D Amaradeva who passed away yesterday (03)  the government has announced today.

Public is requested to hoist a white flag at their residences tomorrow as a respect   of  Pandith Amaradeva who considered as  one of the greatest musicians produced by Sri Lanka.

The funeral of the Late Amaradeva is scheduled to be held at Independence Square in Colombo -07 tomorrow with full state honours.

Meanwhile due to the funeral arrangements  the vehicle movements along the Independence Avanue  will be restricted from 7 a.m tomorrow it has been an ounced.

An Extensive Damage Done To The Musaeus Collage Auditorium Due To A Sudden Fire

An extensive damage has done to the newly built theater auditorium of the Musaeus Collage in Colombo -07 due to a sudden fire erupted there after school time today (04).

Around twelve fire trucks belonging to the Fire Department,Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte/Colombo Municipal Councils ,Colombo Port and Air Force Fire Departments arrived at the scene this evening soon after the fire erupted and doused the fire it has been reported.

No casualties have been reported as a result of the fire according to fire fighters.

Authorities believed a  short circuit  at the Museaus Collage Auditorium may have caused the fire.Fire has erupted  during a rehearsal of a drama which scheduled to be staged tomorrow (05) it has been reported.
