Opposition Leader R.Sampanthan Has Strongly Condemned The Deaths Of Two Jaffna University Students
The Opposition Leader R.Sampanthan(Tamil National Alliance) has today (23)strongly condemned the deaths of two Jaffna University Students who were shot dead in Jaffna last Thursday night.
The Opposition Leader had requested the Inspector General Of Police (IGP) Pujith Jayasundera and President Maithripala Sirisena to conduct an impartial investigation into the deaths.
Five Police Officers were arrested and remanded over the deaths of two university students.

Two Police officers Were Stabbed And Wounded At Chunnakam
A police constable and a sergeant attached to the Chunnakam Police Station (In Jaffna)were hospitalized this evening after a group of six persons arrived from motor cycles had stabbed and wounded them it has been reported.
The injured police officers were admitted to the Jaffna Hospital with non life threatening injuries according to the sources.
At the time of the attack the Police Officers were wearing civil cloths it has been revealed.A special team of police officers is conducting an investigation on the incident

Four Persons Were Killed Due To A Gun Shooting At Mattakkuliya
Four persons were killed and two others injured and hospitalized due to a gun shooting incident occurred at Sameetpura in Mattakkuliya (Colombo) area this evening.
The two injured were admitted to the Colombo National Hospital for treatment.

Former Mayor In Battcaloa Sivageetha prabhakaren was Arrested
The former Mayor of Batticaloa Sivageetha Prabhakaren has been arrested by the Police this morning at her residence in Batticaloa aver the charges of running a brothal house.
Along with the former Mayor two females too taken into custody by Police during the raid .
The three suspects are due to be produced before the Batticaloa Court tomorrow(24).
