An Estate Superintendent And Another Person Were Arrested For Keeping 230 Mili Grammes Of Heroin In Their Possession
The Rathnapura District Toxic Narcotic Unit has arrested an Estate Superintendent and another person with 230 mili grammes of Heroin in their possession in lellupitiya ,Rathnapura.
Accordingly the Estate Superintendent was arrested while keeping 110 mili grammes of Heroin and the other person while keeping 120 mili grammes of Heroin.
However after produced before the Rathnapura Magistrate Court yesterday (13)both suspects were fined Rs.10,000 each it has been reported.

Mallakam Magistrate Re Issued A Notice To The Director General Of Health Sevices To Appear Before Court
The Mallakam (Northern Province)Magistrate Court has today (13)ordered to produce the Director General Of Health Services Dr.Palitha Mahipala before the Court on 10th of January 2017 through the Senior Superintendant Of Police in Colombo as he did not arrive in the Court yesterday(12) according to the notice issued against him regarding the release of a toxic chemical to the water by a factory in Northern Province.
The Mallakam Court has earlier issued a notice to Dr.Mahipala to appear before the court yesterday to explain whether the pure water in Northern Province has affected due to the release of a toxic chemical through a Factory in Chunnakam.
The court has instructed the Director General Of Health Services to investigate and produce a report to the court regarding the release of a toxic chemical to water it has been revealed.

Kandy Magistrate Has Released The 12 Peradeniya University Students Remanded Yesterday On Bail
The Kandy Magistrate has today (13)ordered to release 12 Students attached to Peradeniya University who were remanded yesterday (12) over assaulting a group of fellow students on bail .
The Kandy Magistrate Buddika Shri Ragala has ordered to release the 12 students attached to the faculty of Allied Health Sciences on a cash bail of Rs.100,000 each.
The suspected students were remanded over the assaulting of a group of fellow students who were on their way after participating a Hindu Religious ceremony held at a Kovil in Hanthana.
By releasing the students on bail Kandy Magistrate has warned them not to act as racists.
