Colombo Additional Magistrate Has Ordered To Expel A German National For Keeping Posters Of LTTE Leader In Possession

The Colombo Additional Magistrate has today (13) ordered to expel German National Malarvilie Eshwararaja from the country for keeping 33 posters of LTTE rebel leader Valupillai Prabhakaren in her possession.

The suspected female was arrested by the police while she was staying at a Hotel in Chunnakam(Northern Province) and later  she was handed over to the Terrorism Investigations Division for further investigations.


The Suspect Arrested Over The Assassination Of Former Sunday Leader Editor Was Further Remanded

The bail application filed by an Army Intelligence Officer who was arrested regarding the assassination of former "Sunday Leader" newspaper Editor Lasantha Wikramathunge has been rejected and he was further remanded until 27th of October by the Mount Lavinia Magistrate Court today (13) .

The suspect P.Udalagama was arrested regarding the assassination of Former "Sunday Leader" Editor in last July.

Three Persons Were Killed Due To A Lorry They Were In Fell To A Precipice In Nuwara Eliya

Three Persons were killed and six others injured and hospitalized this morning due to a Lorry they were travelling in fell to a precipice more than 200 feetsdeep  on Nuwara Eliya-Awissawella road .

All nine persons who were in the Lorry at the time of the accident had been admitted  to the Nuwara Eliya Hospital for treatment and two of them died on the admission and one after admission to the Hospital it has been reported.

The injured persons  are workers attached to vegetable farms in Nuwara Eliya according to the reports.

Nanu Oya Police are conducting an investigation on the incident.

A Team Of British Cardio Thoracic Surgeons Arrived In The Island To Perform Heart Surgeries For Children

A Team of British Cardio Thoracic Surgeons has arrived in the Island in view of performing Heart Surgeries for Children in Karapitiya Teaching Hospital free of charge during six day period with  the courtesy  of Sri Lankan Air Lines.

The Team is due to perform 21 Heart Surgeries in Karapitiya Hospital during six days.

Sri Lankan Air Lines sponsored the Brtish Cardio Thoracic Team's visit to Sri Lanka.

A 76 Year Old Male Was Killed Due To A Wild Elephant Attack

A 76 year old male was killed this morning due to a wild elephant attack in Wijayarajapura at Polonnaruwa (North Central Province).

Wild Elephant has attacked the deceased while he was travelling in his motor cycle it has been reported.

Several people were killed by the Wild Elephants in few districts including Polonnaruwa  according to reports.
