Consumer Affairs Authority Has Detained A Stock Of Expired Cosmetics,Creams And Drugs At A Beauty Parlor
According to the consumer affairs authority there is no indication in the labels of the detained stock of cosmetics,creams and drugs regarding the importer and distributor.
After abolishing of former National Drug Regulatory Authority to form Independent Drug Regulatory Authority under the national drug policy the process of registering cosmetics and creams has been stopped it has been revealed.
As a result a large number of unregistered cosmetics and creams have been reported as imported to the country by various cosmetic companies.
Residents In Suduwella -Chilaw Area Have Launched A Protest Campaign Against A Government Approved Liquor Bar
Government has issued the license for the Bar owner to open the Bar in the area although the residents opposing it since the beginning the protesters have stated.
The divisional secretary and the excise department too approved the license of the toddy bar without considering the public views residents have stressed.
If the authorities do not take steps to closed the Bar with immediate effect the protesting residents of the area have pledged to widen the protest campaign against the Bar.
Three Were Killed Due To A Three Wheeler-Bus Collision On Thissamaharama-Kataragama Road
The remains of the deceased had been sent to Kataragama District Hospital for the post mortem. Police have detained the bus driver regarding the accident.
Thissamaharama Police are conducting further investigations on the incident.
National Food Safety Week To Begin Tomorrow(22)
During the week which will last till 29th of August raids will be carried out in eateries throughout the island including restaurants,hotels,bakeries and canteens near bus stops to check the quality and cleanliness of the food served to consumers there.
Ministry of Health is also due to carry out raids with the help of consumer affairs authority
in trade centers during this week to check the implementation of color code system introduced with effect from 01st of August for soft drink bottles to indicate sugar levels containing ,in view of controlling the spreading of non communicable diseases in the country.
Those soft drink manufacturers who do not implement the color code system for their products after 01st of August will be severely punished the ministry has stated
