Crucial Talks Due To Be Held Today (07) Between Joint University Trade Alliance And State Minister Of Higher Education Postponed

The crucial talks due to be held today (07)between the representatives of the Joint University Trade Union Alliance and the State Minister Of Higher Education Mohan Lal Grero regarding the ongoing strike of the University Non Academic Staff had been postponed until tomorrow (08) due to an unavoidable circumstances according to the Ministry.

Earlier the state minister Grero has invited the Joint University Trade Union Alliance representatives
For talks today.

The postponed talks scheduled to be taken place tomorrow (08)it has been reported.

Due to the ongoing strike of the University non academic staffers the activities of all state universities have been  collapsed  it has been reported,

A Female Was Killed And Three Others Got Injured And Hospitalized Due To A Three Wheeler-Bus Collision At Kahawatte

A female was killed and three others were injured and hospitalized due to a Three Wheeler colliding with a Bus at Kahawatte along the Palmadulla-Embilipitiya Road last evening according to the Police.

The injured were admitted to the Kahawatte Hospital for treatment and the remains of the deceased are being kept in the same hospital for Autopsy.

Kahawatte Police have detained the driver of the Bus and conducting further investigations on the incident.

Four Persons With 2303 Mobiles And Tabs Were Detained At Katunayake Airport

Special Task Force Personal (STF)attached to the Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport have today (07) detained four persons who attempted to smuggle in 2303 mobile phones and tabs worth over Rs.20 million to Sri Lanka.

The suspects who have hidden the stock of mobile phones and tabs in their luggage were detained by  STF Personal at the main entrance of the Airport.

The Airport Customs Officers are investigating the incident further.

A Patient At Hambanthota Hospital Had Committed Suicide By Jumping Off A Hospital Building At Hambanthota Hospital

A male patient who was receieving treatment at
the Hambanthota Hospital had committed suicide today (06) by jumping off the third floor of a hospital building according to sources.

The reason behind the suicide of the 55 year old patient from Ambalanthota (Southern Province) area has not yet  been revealed according to the police.

Hambanthota Police are conducting an investigations on the incident.
