Health Ministry To Implement A Special Three Day Dengue Control Programme In Western Province

The Ministry of Health.Nutrition and Indeginous Medicine has planned to implement a special three day Dengue Control Programme in Western Province from 29th to 31st of July by targeting construction sites and Schools which are identified as major Dengue mosquito breeding places  in the province.

Around 520 teams comprising of Armed Forces personal and Health Officials are due to participate this three day Programme for Dengue Control Activities including house to house inspection,Destroying Dengue Mosquito Breeding Places and fumigation the Health Ministry has stated.

Meanwhile per the requests made by Educational Authorities the Health  Ministry has instructed the all provincial health services directors in the island to fumigate the fifth grade scholarship and Advanced Level examination centers situated in schools on 30th and 31st of July.

Five Police Officers Attached To Badulla Police Have Been Injured And Hospitalized Due To An Accident

The Injured Police Officers were admitted to Badulla General Hospital for treatment.

Heavy Traffic Reported From Town Hall Due To A Protest March Of Unemployed Ayurveda Graduates

A Heavy Traffic has been reported in Town Hall area (In Colombo)this noon due to a protest march launched by unemployed Ayurveda Graduates which heading towards the Ministry Of Health,Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine in Deans Road,Maradana.

The protest march had started from Ayurveda Hospital Junction in Borella by demanding to provide employment for the unemployed Ayurveda Graduates.

Due to the traffic the Police have requested the motorists to use an alternative routes when traveling.

Katunayake International Air Port To Be Closed Down Daily For Eight Hours From 05th Of January 2017

The Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Air Port is scheduled to be closed down temporarily for eight hours daily from 05th of January 2017 up to Three Months to carry out maintenance work in the Runway according to Minister Of Transport and Civil Aviation Nimal Siripala De Silva.

Accordingly the Air Port will be closed down from 8.30 a.m to 4.30 p.m daily from 05th of January 2017 for a Three Month period due to maintenance work.

Self-care

Most elbow pain improves with simple home treatments, such as:
  • Protect. Keep the area from getting further injury.
  • Rest. Avoid the activity that caused your injury.
  • Ice. Place an ice pack on the sore area for 15 to 20 minutes three times a day.
  • Compression. Use a compression bandage to reduce swelling.
  • Elevation. Keep your arm elevated to help reduce swelling
