A 18 Year Old Girl Was Killed After Colliding With A Train At Jaffna

A 18 year old girl was killed due to colliding with a train at Chunnakam in Jaffna (In Northern Province)Area according to the Police.

The Train travelling from Kankasanthurai to Jaffna had collided with the girl and she  succumbed to her injuries after getting admitted to Jaffna Hospital it has been reported.

The Chunnakam Police are conducting an investigations on the incident.

An Army Soldier Was Detained While Excavating A Reserve Near Historical Polonnaruwa Gal Viharaya

The Polonnaruwa Police have detained an Army Soldier who had excavated a reserve near historical Polonnaruwa Gal Viharaya(Temple) to search a treasure .

The Army Soldier was detained while excavating the reserve after exploding  the stone slab there it has been reported .

Another person who assisted the Army Soldier for excavation work had run away during the arrest.The suspected Army Soldier is due to be produced before Polonnaeuwa District Court and Polonnaruwa Police are conducting an investigations on the incident.

Land Slide And Cut Slope Failure Threats In Four Districts Due To The Heavy Showers -Disaster Management Center

If the heavy showers prevailing in the island at present continues for another 24 hours there's a possibility  of occurring land slides and cut slope failures  in four districts according to the Disaster Management Center(DMC).

Accordingly land slide and cut slope failure threat is there at  Kurunagala,Badulla,Monaragala and Rathnapura Districts DMC has stated.

The Eppawala Police have yesterday (07) arrested a Sub Inspector attached to a Police Station in Embilipitiya  who behaved in disorderly manner at Eppawala Police Grounds.

During his off day  the  Police Sub Inspector  yesterday went to the Eppawala Police Grounds and with the influence of  liquor  disturbed the people who gathered  at the  ground at that time it has been reported,

The sub inspector  also attempted to assault  a Police Officer who tried to avoid his acts according to the Police.
