Sri Lanka Investment Summit To Be Held In Singapore Tomorrow(15)

The Sri Lanka Investment Summit is due to be held tomorrow(15) in Singapore with the Participation of Sri Lankan Economists and Asian Investors according to Ministry Of Finance.

Sri Lankan Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake is due to be make the key note address at this meeting the Ministry has stated.Among the other speakers of the meeting are Deputy Foreign Minister Dr.Harsha De Silva,Central Bank Governor Arjun Mahendran and Deputy Minister Of Public Enterprises Development Eran Wikramaratne.

A Top Level Sri Lankan Businessmen and Asian Investors are due to participate at Sri Lanka Investment Summit.

Department Of Inland Revenue Has Commenced A "Tax Week"

During this week the Inland Revenue Department Officers will be visiting business apartments to get an information on them according to Deputy Commissioner General of the Department D.G.P.W.Gunathilake.

The Deputy Commissioner General has requested the Business Community to assist their  survey by providing  correct information .

Former Minister Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena Was Summoned By The Presidential Commission Of Inquiry Over An Allegation

The former minister Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena has today(14) given a statement to Presidential Commission Of Inquiry To Investigate and Inquire Into Serious Acts Of Fraud ,Corruption and Abuse of Power  (PRECIFAC) regarding allegations leveled against him over misusing vehicles belonging to the Hector Kobbakaduwa Agrarian Research And Training Institute.

This was the first time that former minister Abeywardena was summoned to the commission to record a statement.

Over One Million School Children In Sri Lanka Still Not Using Tooth Brushes To Clean Their Teeth

Over one million school children in Sri Lanka are reported as still  not using tooth brushes to clean their teeth according to the Deputy Director General Of Health Services (Dental Services) attached to Ministry Of Health , Dr.Jayasundara Bandara.

Due to this situation there is a risk of spreading Oral Diseases among School Children   he has said.

As the World Health Organization(WHO) sets a target that when reached the age of 80 every one should have at least 20 teeth in their mouth ,it is essential to keep the teeth of school children healthy during their school days to achieve that target  Dr.Bandara Has said.

By brushing teeth twice a day in correct way can keep a healthy teeth and Health Ministry's aim is to protect every tooth of school children until they leave the school he has further said.

Dr.Jayasundara Bandara has revealed these facts during the seminar on "Oral Health" held at Health Education Bureau in Colombo this morning.
