Sri Lankan Finance Minister Held Talks With Visiting German Senior Minister On Investment Opportunities In Sri Lanka

The Visiting Senior German Government Minister Dagmar Gabrielle Wohrl has yesterday(01) met with Sri Lankan Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake at Ministry Of Finance and held talks on Investment Opportunities and Management in Sri Lanka according to sources.

The strong ties prevails between Sri Lanka And Germany at present will  be further strengthened through the Business Sector ,Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake has said during the talks.Sri Lanka is now experiencing the  results of the President Maithripala Sirisena's visit to Germany  recently  the Minister Karunanayake has stressed.

Minister Of Tourism Development Has Sworn In As New Minister Of Lands

The Minister Of Tourism Development And Christian Religious Affairs  John Amarathunge  has sworn in as the new Minster of Lands in addition to his current portfolio before President Maithripala Sirisena this morning.

Minister Amarathunge will fill the vacant Ministerial Portfolio on Lands held by late M.K.A.D.S Gunawardena who passed away on 19th of January.

The swearing in Ceremony was held at President's House in Colombo this morning.

Welikada Police Have Arrested A Person With A Haul Of Rs.500,000 Worth Heroin

Welikada Police have arrested a person with a haul of Rs.500,000 worth Heroin in possession at Moragasmulla (In Western Province) Area this noon according to the Police.

The suspect who is a resident of Grandpass(In Colombo) Area was arrested while distributing Heroin the Welikada Police have revealed.

Police are now questioning the suspect regarding distributing Heroin in Colombo and he is due to be produced before Court this evening.

An Army Officer In Palali Who Attempted To Commit Suicide Was Hospitalized With Gun Shot Injuries

An Army Officer who attempted  to commit suicide by shot his head through his official fire arm was  admitted to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital yesterday(01) with gun shot injuries according to Palali(In Northern Province) Police.

The 20 year old Army Officer who attached to the High Security Zone of Eastern  Palali in Jaffna shot   his head through  his official Fire Arm it has been revealed,

Palali Police are conducting an investigations on the incident.
