Two Customs Officers Arrested In Connection With Rs.125 Million Bribery Case Were Remanded Until 10th Of March

The two Customs Officers who were arrested by Bribery Commission Officials on Wednesday(24) in connection with Sri Lanka's biggest ever Bribery Case worth Rs.125 Million have been remanded until 10th Of March by Colombo Magistrate .

The two suspects Upali Wikramasinghe and Wasantha Wimalaweera have been remanded after being produced before Colombo Magistrate Court yesterday(25).

Earlier Three Customs Officers  have been arrested  regarding the Rs.125 Million Bribery Case on 15th October 2015.

Iran Agreed To Supply Crude Oil To Sri Lanka For Lower Prices-Finance Minister

The Government of Iran has agreed to supply Crude Oil to Sri Lanka for lower prices according to the Minister Of Finance Ravi Karunanayake.

The Iranian Minister Of Power And Energy has met Sri Lankan Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake at the Ministry Of Finance yesterday (25) and discussed on supplying of Iranian Crude Oil to Sri Lanka for lower prices,

With this agreement Sri Lanka has able to initiate Trade Ties with Iran Minister Karunanayake has said.

Colombo Additional Magistrate Has Ordered The CID To Arrest Suspects Of The Death Of Former Rugby Player Wasim Thajudeen And Produce Them Before Court

The Colombo Additional Magistrate Court has today(25) ordered the Criminal Investigations Department(CID) to arrest those who are responsible for the death of former Sri Lankan National Rugby Player Wasim Thajudeen as it appeared to be a murder,

After considering the Post Mort um Examination result of Thajudeen,the Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Peiris has ordered the CID to arrest the suspects of Thajudeen's Murder and produce them before the court.

Thajudeen's Death which occurred on 17th of May 2012 inside his car which then confirmed as crashed into a wall at Kirulapona(In Colombo) appears to be a murder according to the details uncovered so far the Colombo Additional Magistrate has said.Therefor he has instructed the CID to submit a report regarding this on 23rd of March.

The Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Peiris has also stated that the injuries sustained in the Chest Area has been observed as the cause of the death of former Rugby Player Thajudeen.
