Airport Customs Officers Have Arrested A Sri Lankan With A Stock Of 10,200 Illegal Cigarettes

The Airport Customs Officers have yesterday (20) morning arrested a Sri Lankan with a stock of 10,200  illegal Cigarettes in his possession at the Katunayake Bandaranaike International Air Port.

The 40 year old suspect who is a resident of Madampe in Halawatha Area has been arrested after he arrived from a Qatar Air Line .The Stock of illegal cigarettes detained is estimated as worth Rs.102,000 according to Customs Officers,

The Airport Customs Officers have imposed a fine of Rs.40,000 over the suspect.

Sri Lanka To Strengthen The Ties With Austria In Many Fields-Sri Lankan President Sirisena

Sri Lanka is expecting to go a long journey with  Austria by strengthening the ties between  two countries in the fields of Culture,Education,Trade  and Sports the Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirsiena has said at a media briefing held in   Austrian Presidential Palace "Hofberg" in Vienna .

The Sri Lankan President who is in Austria for a three day state visit has met with Austrian President Heinz Fischer yesterday(19) and held bi lateral talks,Sri Lankan President has also met with Austrian Business Community and Sri Lankan Community in Austria.

Forty Garment Workers Have Been Injured And Hospitalized As The Bus They Travelling In Fallen Down In To The Kalu Ganga(Black River)

Forty Garment Workers  have been injured and hospitalized today(20) due to a Bus they have travelling  in has fallen down in to the Kalu Ganga(Black River) at the Ratnapura-Damburuwana Area.

The Bus which carried the Garment Workers has lost control and fallen down in to the River it has been reported.

Ratnapura Police are investigating on the accident.
