There are around 31186 displaced persons at  Displaced Camps in Jaffna District (In Northern Province) at present according to the Displaced People  in Jaffna District.

A group of  displaced persons in Jaffna has informed on this to visiting United Nations High Commissioner For Human Rights  Prince Zeid Raad Al Hussain when he visited Jaffna last week

The Displaced Persons in Jaffna have  requested the authorities to free their lands now belongs to high security zone in Jaffna.

A Youth With More Than 275 Liters Of Illicit Liquor "Goda" And Equipment Used To Prepare Liquor Arrested At Balangoda

The Balangoda Police have today(09) arrested a 21 year old youth who is running an illicit liquor business at Galpeella Ala Water Reserve Area in Balangoda with more than 275 liters of Goda(Locally made illicit liquor) and equipment used to prepare the liquor .

The suspect who is a resident of  Pettigalawatta Area in Balangoda has been produced before Balangoda Magistrate Court this evening.

Balangoda Police are conducting further investigations on the incident.

A British National Found Mysteriously Dead At A Tourist Resort In Unawatuna

A British National attached to a Foreign Ship as a Security Office has found mysteriously dead in a room at a Tourist Resort in Unawatuna(In Southern Province) where he resided in  early this morning according to the Police.

The deceased Foreign National has been identified as a Security Officer attached to a Ship arrived at Galle Harbor.He has been resided at a Tourist Resort in Unawatuna until the departure of his Ship.

Habaraduwa(In Southern Province) Police are conducting an investigation on the incident.
