Dengue Is On The Increase In Colombo City-Chief Medical Officer In Colombo

dengue mosquito breeding places සඳහා පින්තුර ප්‍රතිඵලAround 15 to 20 Dengue Patients are being reported daily from Colombo City these days according to the Chief Medical Officer in Colombo Dr.Ruwan Wijemuni.

Majority of these patients  belongs to the age group  6-20 years Dr.Wijemuni has said.

As the Dengue is on the  increase in  City Of Colombo the Public Health Department of Colombo Municipal Council has launched a special three day Dengue Control Programme in Colombo City few days ago and during the raids carried out under the programme the Department  has found 155 premises with Dengue Mosquito Breeding Places Dr.Wijemuni has stressed."A Legal Action will be taken against the owners of these premises" he has stressed.

Sri Lanka Navy Have Recovered Bodies Of Five Fishermen Who Went Missing

Sri Lanka Navy have yesterday(02)  recovered the  Bodies of Five Fishermen who went missing since last Sunday after their boat has collided with a Ship at Galle Coast(In Southern Province).

The bodies of five fishermen have been found in the vicinity of Mid Sea during the search missions carried out by Navy with the assistance of  Dvora Petrol Boats.

The recovered bodies of fishermen have been transported by Boat to the Galle Harbor.

Commuters Have Faced Difficulties Due To The Strike Action Of Private Bus Operators On Southern Expressway

Due to the strike action launched by Private Bus Operators from Maharagama to Galle and Matara on the Southern Expressway this morning a large number of commuters travelling through  the Southern Expressway have faced enormous difficulties according to the sources.

The Lanka Private Bus Owners Association has launched this strike as a protest against issuing of temporary licences to 10 new buses running through the expressway according to president of the Association Gamunu Wijeratne.

The Private Bus Operators are demanding the authorities to cancel the temporary licences.
