Minister Of Health Has Instructed The Authorities To Suggest Ways To Reduce The Escalating Prices Of Medicinal Drugs
The Minister Of Health,Nutrition And Indigenous Medicine Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has instructed the Health Authorities to suggest the ways to reduce the escalating prices of Medicinal Drugs in the local market with immediate effect.
The Daily "Divaina" Newspaper published in Sri Lanka has revealed through a front page news item recently quoted by Government Doctors that prices of many essential anti biotic drugs in the local market have been increased by 200 -300% during the period from last July to January this year (2016).The main causes behind this price increase are none registering of new drugs at Independent Drug Regulatory Authority since last July and the escalation of the value of Sri Lankan Rupee against US Dollar according to the Doctors.
The Health Minister has said Drug Companies supplying medicinal drugs to Sri Lanka have already agreed to reduce the prices of Imported Drugs up to 85% and it will become to effect after the making of regulations to implement a price mechanism for drugs under the National Drug Policy.

Embilipitiya Magistrate Has Ordered The CID To Arrest And Produce Former ASP And HQI Of Embilipitiya Police Before The Court
The Embilipitiya Magistrate has today(27) ordered the Criminal Investigation Department(CID) to arrest and produce suspects responsible for the clash in Embilipitiya including former Assistant Superintendent Of Police(ASP) and Headquarters Inspector(HQI) with immediate effect.
The Magistrate has ordered to arrest and produce Former Embilipitiya ASP and HQI before court and other suspects of the Embilipitiya Clash for an identification parade in connection with the clash occurred at a house in Embilipitiya on 04th of January between the residents and some police officers which killed one youth .
The Report of the Investigation carried out over the incident has been handed over to the CID last week per instructions of Attorney General .
Three Civilians and Four Policemen have been injured and hospitalized due to the clash occurred at a house in Embilipitiya on 04th of January and one youth has died after falling to the ground from an up stair of the house.

Five Member Committee Appointed To Investigate On Alleged Kidney Transplant Racket Scheduled To Be Submitted The Investigation Report During Next Two Weeks
The five member committee appointed to investigate on alleged illegal Kidney Transplant Racket operated between Sri Lanka and India is due to submit it's investigation report during next two weeks according to Ministry Sources.
The Five Member Committee chaired by Deputy Director General Of Health Services(Dental Services) Dr.Jayasundara Bandara had already begun investigations on the alleged kidney transplant racket by visiting four colombo based private hospitals identified as perform these transplant surgeries.
The Director General Of Health Services Dr.Palitha Mahipala has appointed the five member committee to probe on the kidney racket on last Saturday (23) per the instructions of Minister Of Health,Nutrition And Indigenous Medicine Dr.Rajitha Senaratne.

Homagama Magistrate Has Ordered The Police To Arrest And Produce The Protesters Who Have Acted Violently At Court Premises Yesterday(26)
The Homagama Magistrate has today(27) ordered the Homagama Police to arrest and produce the protesters mainly Buddhist Monks who have protested near the Court Premises and created a tense situation out there yesterday(26) over the imprisonment of Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thero.
Around 200 protesters mainly Buddhist Monks had gathered outside the Homagama Magistrate Court yesterday evening to protest over the arrest and imprisonment of Gnanasara Thero who was arrested for contempt of court.
The Buddhist Monks representing Bodu Bala Sena,Sinhala Ravaya and Ravana Balaya Organizations had blocked the road near court premises to prevent the prison bus carrying Gnanasara Thero leaving the court premises.
After imprisonment Gnanasara Thero has been transferred to Prison Hospital in Welikada from the Prison.
