Specialist Doctors Want To Remove Heads Of Independent Drug Regulatory Authority
A large number of complaints have been received by the Ministry Of Health,Nutrition And Indigenous Medicine from specialist doctors attached to Government Hospitals island wide by requesting to remove two retired Professors who are the heads of newly Formed Independent Drug Regulatory Authority and responsible for the price escalation of Anti Biotic Drugs in local market and the Drug Shortage prevails in Maharagama Cancer Hospital at present.
Due to not registering new drugs at the Independent Drug Regulatory Authority since last July there is a severe shortage of essential Anti Cancer Drugs at Maharagama Cancer Hospital according to the Collage Of Oncologists.Due to to the poor administrative skills of two retired professors who are in charge of Drug Regulatory Authority they are not able to register new drugs for the government hospitals and as there's a shortage occurred on these drugs , result is the escalation of prices of many Anti Biotic Drugs at local market Oncologists said.
Due to this the two retired professors should be removed from Authority and a specialized professionals with a sound administrative skills should be appointed as heads of Drug Regulatory Authority they have stressed.
The Independent Drug Regulatory Authority has been established under the National Medicinal Drug Policy on 01st of July 2015.It's aim is to import good quality drugs to Sri Lanka for reasonable prices.

IT Giant Microsoft To Sign A Technical Agreement With Sri Lanka
The IT Giant Microsoft Company is willing to sign a Technical Agreement with Sri Lankan Government soon in view of introducing latest Technologies to the Country according to Microsoft Company President John Phillip.
The Microsoft President has already informed on this to Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe who is currently attending the World Economic Summit in Switzerland according to Sources.
Through the planned Technical Agreement ,Microsoft Company is expected to provide New Generation Technology and Information Technology and to Digitizing the fields of Education and Social Security .
During the meeting held with Sri Lankan Prime Minister the Microsoft President has said the Company will send a team of experts to Sri Lanka to monitor the possibility of introducing new technologies to the Country.

Duration Of Foreign Employment Training Given To Sri Lankan Females Going To Middle Eastern Countries Has Been Increased
The Duration of the Foreign Training given to Sri Lankan Females who are going for Employment in Middle Eastern Countries for the first time has been increased to 40 Days from 21 Days according to Foreign Employment Bureau.
The decision to increase the Training Period has been taken by Minister Of Foreign Employment Thalatha Athukorale the Bureau has said.
The reason behind this decision is to improve the quality of Foreign Employment Training given to Sri Lankan Females who are going for Employment in Middle Eastern Countries it has been reported.
