Health Minister Has Appointed A Three Member Committee To Investigate On Involvement Of Six Sri Lankan Doctors To The Kidney Racket

The Minister Of Health,Nutrition And  Indigenous Medicine Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has appointed a Three Member Committee to investigate on the involvement of  Six Sri Lankan Doctors to the Large Scale Kidney Racket operated between Sri Lanka and India.

The Committee which comprising the Director of Private Hospitals in the Ministry Of Health Dr.Kanthi Ariyaratne,Western Provincial Health Services Director Dr.Deepthi Perera and a member of the Special Investigations Unit Of  the Ministry Of Health has already bagun investigations by visiting the releveant Private Hospitals in Colombo which Indian Police have claimed as using to perform illegal Kidney Transpalnt Surgeries.

The report of the investigations is due to be submitted to the Director General Of Health Services Dr.Palitha Mahipala within a week the Ministry Sources said.

If those accused Sri Lankan Doctors are found guilty for involved in the Kidney Racket their registration of the Sri Lanka Medical Council will be cancelled with immedaitte effect the sources said.The Ministry is due to  take an action against these doctors after informing the details of investigations report to Sri Lanka Medical Council it has been reported.
