Thilanga Sumapthipala Has Been Elected As New President Of The Sri Lanka Cricket
Parliament MP and Deputy Speaker Thilanga Sumathipala has been today(03) elected as the New President of Sri Lanka Cricket with majority of votes.
During today's vote conducted to elect the Sri Lanka Cricket President ,Thilanga Sumathipala has been received 88 votes and his main opponent Nishantha Ranathunge has received 56 votes.
Meanwhile Former President of the Cricket Interim Committee Jayantha Dharmadasa and K.Mathivanan have been elected as new Vice Presidents Of the Sri Lanka Cricket.Minister Arjuna Ranathunge who had contested for a Vice President Post has been defeated at the vote.

United Nations Has Decided To Consider Vesak Day As A Floating Holiday
The United Nations Organization has decided to consider Vesak Day as a floating holiday from this year.Earlier the Organization had recognized Vesak Day as an International Day Of Observance.
The decision to consider Vesak Day which mark the Birth,Enlightenment and Demise of Lord Buddha as a floating holiday has been taken in the interest of respecting the diversity of United Nations Staff Members the UN has said.

Sri Lanka And Pakistan To Sign Two Memorandum Of Understandings(MOU'S) This Week
Sri Lanka and Pakistan are due to sign two memorandum of understandings(MOU'S)regarding promoting trade and providing training services during Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sheriff's Official Visit to Sri Lanka this week.
