One Female Was Killed And Seven Others Injured As The Van They Were Travelling In Toppled On Southern Expressway
One female was killed and seven others injured as the Van they were traveling in toppled on Southern Expressway this morning on their way to Galle(In Southern Province) from Kottawa(In Colombo) according to Police.
The van belonging to Agriculture And Agrarian Insurance Board has toppled near 73 K.M Post at Elpitiya(In Southern Province) Area.The deceased female was a 28 year old Agriculture Officer from Ratnapura District
The injured were admitted to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital..
The Elpitiya Police have arrested Diver of The Van regarding the accident.

Ministry Of Transport To Fine Rs.5000 From Train Passengers Travelling Without A Ticket With Immediatte Effect
The Ministry Of Transport has decided to fine a Penalty of Rs.5000 from Passengers who are traveling by Trains without purchasing a Ticket with immediate effect. This fine will be doubled from 01st of January 2016 according to the Ministry.
The fine charged from Train Passengers who are traveling without a Ticket has been earlier increased from Rd.900 to Rs.2500 on 2013.
The increased fine will also effect for those Train Passengers who are traveling in First Class Compartments with Second Class or Third Class Tickets .

Fourteen Government Executive Grade Professions To Launch An Island Wide Strike Soon-Dr.Nimal Karunasiri
Around 14 Government Executive Grade Professions including Government Doctors,Engineers ,Architects ,Accountants , Auditors,Ayurveda Doctors and Administrative Officers have today (07)warned the government they will launch an island wide Continuous Strike soon if the government fail to reinstate their privileges scraped through the Budget Proposals.
A special summit with the participation of professionals belonging to the said professions is due to be held at OPA Center in Colombo tomorrow evening to decide the future course of action according to the President Of Joint Committee Of All Island Service Executive Grade Officers Dr.Nimal Karunasiri.
The Government has failed to negotiate with the joint trade unions in view of solving their demands namely Giving concessionary Vehicle Permits for government servants and to implementing the pension scheme .
