Heavy Showers To Continue In Most Parts Of The Island - Meteorology Department
Due to the Atmospheric Disturbance prevailing in Sri Lanka at present heavy showers assisted with strong winds will continue in most parts of the country during coming days according to the Meteorology Department.
The showers will occur mainly during the evening and in some parts of the island in morning session as well the Department has said.
Around 100 mili meter Heavy Showers may occur in some parts of the island it has been revealed.

Due To The Heavy Showers Prevailing In Many Roads And Low Land Areas In Polonnaruwa And Hambanthota Have Been Flooded
Due to the heavy showers prevailing in since few days Many Roads and low land areas in Polonnaruwa(In North Central Province) and Hambanthota(In Southern Province) Districts have been flooded according to Disaster Management Center(DMC).
In Polonnaruwa the Road leading to Popular Somawathi Chaithya has closed down due to the floods and Crocodiles and Wild Elephants have seen on the road made dangerous for public to travel through it Police have said.
Due to the overflowing of Hungama,Bataatha ,Gajamangama and Mahawewa Rivers several low land areas and roads in Hambanthota District have been flooded the sources have said.
Due to the opening of Sluice Gates in Kawudulla Reservoir and Parkarama Tank a section of Polonnaruwa-Batticloe Main Road has been flooded and disrupted the Public Transport according to Police.

Around Ten Passengers Were Injured Due To The Collision Of Three Buses At Matale
Around Ten Passengers were injured and admitted to the Matale(In the Hill Country) Hospital this morning due to the collision of Three Buses at Thotagamuwa in Matale,
Three Buses Travelling from Matale To Dambulla were collided each other according to the Police.
Matale Police are investigating on the incident.

Sri Lankan And Mihin Air Lines To Arrange A Special Flight To Buddhagaya Tomorrow(06) To Bring Back Stranded Sri Lankan Pligrims
Sri Lankan Air Lines and Mihin Lanka Air Lines have arranged a Special Flight to Buddhagaya in India tomorrow(06) to bring back a group of 120 Pilgrims to Sri Lanka who are stranded at the Buddhist Holy City ,Buddhagaya(Bodh Gaya) due to the closure of Chennai Air Port following the floods.
The Pilgrims are being scheduled to travel through road to Chennai and then flying to Colombo,But due to the floods in Chennai Air Port they are stranded in Buddhagaya at present.
According to the authorities Air Bus-320 belonging to Budget Carrier Mihin Lanka Air Lines is schedule to fly Buddhagaya tomorrow morning to bring back the stranded pilgrims .The Air Bus is expected to arrive Sri Lanka in the afternoon.
