Sri Lanka Commemorated World Diabetes Day With A Diabetes Walk And A Special Seminar On The Disease
World Diabetes Day fell today(14).The theme of this year's World Diabetes Day is "Healthy Living Starts At Break first".
A special Diabetes Walk to commemorate World Diabetes Day-2015 was held from Independence Square in Colombo to Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall in Colombo -07 this morning with the participation of Government Officials and General Public.
Coincided with the walk A Diabetes Awareness Seminars and Clinics to conduct Blood Sugar Tests free of charge were held at BMICH. this morning.
According to the Physicians around 20% of the Sri Lankan Urban Population are suffering from Diabetes and the disease among Rural Population is on the increase due to Poor eating habits,Lack of Exercises and Mental Stress condition.
Diabetes has now spread from Infants to Adults in Sri Lankan Society according to Local Physicians.

Indian Government Has Reduced The Electronic Tourist Visa Fee For Sri Lankans Visiting India By 35 US Dollars
Indian Government has reduced the Electronic Tourist Visa Fee for Sri Lankans by 35 US Dollars according to the Indian High Commission of Sri Lanka,
Accordingly Sri Lankans who are applying for Electronic Tourist Visas to visit India will now only have to pay 25 US Dollars reduced from 60 US Dollars which was operative earlier.
However the Bank Charge of 2.5% will remain unchanged for the Sri Lankans applying for Electronic Tourist Visa to visit India which was introduced on 14th of April this year.

All The Patients In Chilaw Hospital Have Been Transferred To Three Other Hospitals Due To The Floods
As the Four Wards and Intensive Care Unit(ICU) of Chilaw District General Hospital have been submerged by flood waters all the patients stayed in Wards and ICU have been transferred to other hospitals with immediate effect it has been reported.
All the patients stayed in Four Wards and ICU of Chilaw Hospital have been transferred to Colombo National,Marawila and Kuliyapitiya Hospitals(In North Western Province).
