New Chairman And Two New Commissioners Have Been Appointed To Bribery Commission
Justice Titus Bodhipala Weerasinghe has been today (20) appointed as the Chairman of Commission To Investigate Allegations Against Bribery And Corruption according to Director General Of the Commission Dilrukshi Dias Wikramasinghe.
Justice Chandranath Neville Guruge and Justice Ranjith Silva have been appointed as new commissioners of the Bribery Commission the Director General has said.
These new Appointments have been made by newly appointed constitutional council which was established under the 19th amendment.It has been reported that President Maithripala Sirisene has given approval for these appointments .
The Cabinet Spokesman and Minister of Health Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has stated recently that during the period of out going Chairman of the Bribery Commission Jagath Balapatabandi ,no proper inquiries have conducted on serious allegations leveled against bribes.
Even an allegation has leveled against former chairman of the commission itself regarding taking bribes and outcome of the inquiry conducted on that has a negative impact Cabinet Spokesman has stressed.

CID Has Requested The Permission Of Parliamentary Speaker To Question MP Geetha Kumarasinghe On Her Dual Citizenship Status
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has requested the permission of Parliamentary Speaker Karu Jayasuriya to Question the Galle District(In Southern Province)MP of United Peoples Freedom Alliance and former actress Geetha Kumarasinghe regarding the allegation leveled against her on holding Dual Citizenship in Sri Lanka and in Switzerland.
According to the Provisions of newly implemented 19th Amendment Sri Lankan Citizens who possesses Dual Citizenship in an another country are not eligible to contest in local elections.
MP Kumarasinghe who has been elected to Parliament from Galle District at the recently concluded General Elections for the first time would loose her parliamentary seat if she found guilty for the allegation leveled against her.However she had served as a Provincial Council Member of Southern Provincial Council prior to the General Election held in 17th of August this year.
Meanwhile Four Petitioners have filed a court case too against MP Kumarasinghe regarding the same
allegation .

Health Minister Has Requested The Traditional Ayurveda Doctors To Produce Their Ancient Traditional Herbal Medicines For Patent Rights
The Minister Of Health,Nutrition And Indigenous Medicine Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has requested the Traditional Ayurveda Doctors (Paramparika Doctors) in the country to produce their ancient herbal medicine prescriptions which can cure so many incurable non communicable diseases before the Health Ministry for a purpose of issuing Patent Licences for Prescription Owners.
The Health Ministry is ready to preserve these ancient herbal medicine prescriptions for the benefit of future generations and ready to honor these traditional doctors with awards Health Minister has stated.
"The Traditional Ayurvedic Medicine Can cure so many non communicable diseases like Cancers,Heart Diseases,Cholesterol and Diabetes which the western medicine not able to treat effectively and due to this ,traditional ayurveda doctors should be protected as treasures of the country " Minister has stressed.

Kandy Magistrate Has Ordered To Remand The Suspected Daughter Who Held Her Father Inside A Dog's Cage
The Kandy Magistrate has ordered yesterday(19) to further remanded the 42 year old daughter who was detained last week for allegedly locking her father inside a Dog's Cage at Balagolla in Kandy District.
The suspected daughter has been remanded until 02nd of November and due to be produced before Kandy Magistrate Court on that day.
The father who was living inside a dog's cage made by metal bars and bricks has been receiving treatment at Manikhinna Base Hospital in Kandy District.The police have arrested the suspected daughter after a member of the police patrolling team has spotted the 73 year old father who was held inside the dog's cage,
