Government Will Negotiate With All Parties To Find A Solution For Problems Of Tamils In North-Prime Minister Wikramasinghe

The Government will negotiate with all the parties and find a permanent solution for the problems of Tamil Community in Northern Sri Lanka according to Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe.

Prime Minister has said in  his special speech delivered in Parliament this evening by rousing communal feelings no one can find solutions for the problems face by Tamil community in north."Present Government is responsible for the people,so we will try to do correct things for the people always" he has stressed.

By commenting on the Report issued by UN Human Rights Council on alleged war crimes said to be occurred in Northern Sri Lanka during final phase of war against LTTE Militants prime minister says the government will create a local mechanism to inquire on alleged war crimes and that mechanism will be created with the help of all the parties."The proposed  local mechanism to inquire on alleged war crimes will be created locally and we will not getting the support of any international organization or individual for that" he has stated.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksha Wants Government To Refuse The UN Human Rights Council Report On Sri Lanka

The former president Mahinda Rajapakshe has requested the  Sri Lankan Government to refuse the United Nations Human Rights Council Report against alleged war crimes said to be occurred in Sri Lanka which issued last week as the findings in that report are baseless and biased.

In a statement released by the former president it has stated as the inquiry on alleged war crimes against Sri Lanka which said to be occurred during the last phase of war against LTTE Militants has been carried out by Human Rights Council itself instead of an Independent Body the findings are biased and baseless .

"During my government we didn't support the inquiry carried out by UN Human Rights Council  on alleged war crimes in Sri Lanka as it has done by violating the procedures of Human Rights Council "Former President has said.

Special Commodity Levy Imposed On Imported Big Anions Has Been Increased From Today

The Special Commodity Levy imposed on imported Big Anions(Bombay Anions) has been increased from Rs.10 to 30 per Kilo Gramme with effect from today(22) according to the Ministry Of Finance.

However this will not effect the market price of Big Anions the Ministry has said.

Reaching of local anion crops to the market was behind the decision on increasing the Special Commodity Levy imposed on Big Anions.

Parliament Has Approved The Three Civil Members Nominated For Constitutional Council

The Parliament has today(22) approved the three representatives nominated for representing Civil Society in the Constitutuional Council.The three approved representatives are Dr.Radhika Kumaraswamy,Dr.A.T Ariyaratne and Shibly Aziz.

The other members appointed to the Constitutional Councill are Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe,Opposition Leader R.Samapanthan , Speaker Karu Jayasuriya,Ministers  Wijedasa Rajapakshe,Vijitha Hearth and Patali Champika Ranawake and W.D.J Seneviratne.

The constitutional Council is due to etablish nine independant commisions and monitoring  their affairs.
