Nurses Strike At North Western Provincial Council Hospitals Has Paralyzed The Patient Care Services
Due to the one day token strike launched today (04) by the Nursing Staff attach to Government Hospitals in North Western Province the patient care services were paralyzed and a large number of patients have faced severe difficulties according to Hospital Sources.
The Nurses attach to all Government Hospitals belonging to North Western Provincial Council have launched the strike by demanding the cancellation of 378 illegal transfers made by North Western Provincial Director of Health Services.

Members Of The Constitutional Council To Be Appointed During Next Week
The members of the Constitutional Council which formed under the 19th Amendment are scheduled to be appointed during next week according to political sources.
The Constitutional Council comprising with ten members and the Speaker,Prime Minister,Opposition Leader are automatically becomes the official members of the council.A representative each behalf of the President,Prime Minister and Opposition Leader are due to be appointed to the constitutional council and also a representative behalf of minor parties and three civil members .
The Constitutional Council will appoint the representatives for the other independent
commissions including Police and Judicial Commissions.

President Has Promoted Six District Court Judges As High Court Judges
President Maithrpala Sirisene has promoted Six District Court judges as High Court Judges per the recommendations made by Judicial Services Commission and the Attorney General .These new High Court Judges have been sworn in yesterday (03)before Chief Justice K.Sri Pawan .
Under this the Colombo District Court Judge Harsha Sethunga has been sworn in as a High Court Judge in Kurunagala Civil Appeal High Court,Kegalle District Judge Rohan Jayawardene has been sworn in as a High Court Judge in Anuradhapura Civil Appeal High Court,Nugegoda District Judge Ajith Masinghe has been sworn in as a Hambanthota Crimes High Court Judge ,Colombo District Court Judge Sumith Perera has been sworn in as a High Court Judge in Galle Civil Appeal High Court ,Colombo Additional District Judge Kumari Abeyratne has been sworn in as a High Court Judge in Kegalle Civil Appeal High Court and Kaduwela Additional District Court Judge Wasantha Jinadasa has sworn inn as High Court Judge in Ratnapura Crimes High Court.
