President Has Promoted Six District Court Judges As High Court Judges
President Maithrpala Sirisene has promoted Six District Court judges as High Court Judges per the recommendations made by Judicial Services Commission and the Attorney General .These new High Court Judges have been sworn in yesterday (03)before Chief Justice K.Sri Pawan .
Under this the Colombo District Court Judge Harsha Sethunga has been sworn in as a High Court Judge in Kurunagala Civil Appeal High Court,Kegalle District Judge Rohan Jayawardene has been sworn in as a High Court Judge in Anuradhapura Civil Appeal High Court,Nugegoda District Judge Ajith Masinghe has been sworn in as a Hambanthota Crimes High Court Judge ,Colombo District Court Judge Sumith Perera has been sworn in as a High Court Judge in Galle Civil Appeal High Court ,Colombo Additional District Judge Kumari Abeyratne has been sworn in as a High Court Judge in Kegalle Civil Appeal High Court and Kaduwela Additional District Court Judge Wasantha Jinadasa has sworn inn as High Court Judge in Ratnapura Crimes High Court.

TNA Strongly Opposes Division Of Sri Lanka- Opposition Leader R.Sampanthan
"The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) is strongly opposes the division of Sri Lanka " according to the TNA Leader and newly elected opposition leader of the parliament R.Sampanthan.
Speaking to BBC Sandeshaya Programme today the opposition leader has said that he can do the similar things that a Sinhalese Opposition Leader can do without any difficulty.
"TNA will not allow to divide Sri Lanka at any cost" he has further said.

JVP Leader Anura Dissanayake's Name Proposed For Chief Opposition Whip Post
The name of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna(JVP) Leader MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake has been proposed to the post of Chief Opposition Whip according to sources.JVP Leader's name was first proposed for the chief opposition whip post during the party leaders meeting held recently sources have said.
