Female Passenger Died And 22 Others Injured Due To A Bus-Tiper Collision

A female passenger has died and 22 others were injured due to a C.T.B Bus-Tiper collision occurred this  morning at Mahiyangana-Polonnaruwa road.Drivers of the both vehicles are among those injured according to the Police.

Dehiattakandiya Police have investigating on the incident.

Sri Lankan Army Personal Treated Nearly 2000 Nepali Earthquake Victims So Far-Major Dias

The Sri Lankan Army Personal who are currently engaged in relief work at  earthquake site in Nepal have so far treated nearly 2000 victims including 500 surgical treatment the leader of the Sri Lankan Relief Team Major General Maithree Dias has said.The army personal are now reaching the remote villages in Nepal which affected by the earthquake  through repairing the damaged roads Major Dias has revealed.

A Group Of Prisoners To Be Released To Mark Wesak Poya Day

To mark the Wesak Full Moon Poya Day 1400 Prisoners are to be  released from today (03) on wards  under a  general amnesty according to the Department Of Prisons.The department has taken steps to release Prisoners representing all the prisons throughout the island it has been stated.

Consumer Affairs Authority Requested Private Hospital Owners To Include Drugs And Devices Prices In Patient's Bills

The Consumer Affairs authority has requested the Private Hospital Owners to mention  the exact prices of the Drugs and Devices that are  used when treating the patients in  the Patient's Bills in order to avoid charging higher prices from the patients.

The Authority had made this request following the complaints received by them from the Patients and Medical Practitioners that the private hospitals are charging higher prices for these drugs and devices
..Under the section 28 of the Consumer Affairs Authority Act it is a right of the every citizen to receive a bill for the goods they are purchasing   the Authority sources have said.
