National Cricket Selectors Headed By Chief Selector Sanath Jaysuriya Have Decided To Resign From Their Posts

The all six members of the National Cricket Selection  Committee of Sri Lanka  including the President of the Committee the Former Sri Lankan Star Cricketer Sanath Jayasuriya have  today (03) announced that they will be resigned for their posts pave the way to the new administrators of the Sri Lanka Cricket Interim Committee to appoint a new panel of cricket selectors.

Chief Selector Sanath Jayasuriya has already tendered his resignation to the Sports And Tourism Minister Naveen Dissanayake it has been reported.

The rest of the selection committee including the former cricketers Hashan Thilakeratne,Pramodaya Wikramasinha,Hematha Wikramaratne,Eric Upashantha and Chaminda Mendis are due to be tendered their resignations reports said.

During the recently concluded ICC World Cup Cricket Tournament held  in Austarlia and New Zealand ,the controversial selections made by the national cricket selectors for the national cricket team especially for the crucial matches have been heavily criticized by the local media.

The Cricket Selectors due to be resigned were appointed by the Sports Minister of the Former Government Mahindananda Aluthgamage .

A Partial Lunar Eclipse To Be Visible To Sri Lanka Tomorrow(04)

A Partial Lunar Eclipse is due to be visible to Sri Lanka tomorrow(04) with the moon rising from the Eastern Horizon around 6.18 p.m and will be there till 7.15 p.m.The Eclipse will begin at 2.31 P.M in Sri Lankan Standard Time and due to be ended at 8.29 P.M.

As this Lunar Eclipse occurs during the day time only the later part  of the eclipse is visible to Sri Lanka Local Scientists have said.After 7.15 p.m tomorrow as the Moon is entering to Penumbra
no eclipse will be visible except the little dimming of moon light they have stated.

According to the Professor Chandana Jayaratne of the Department Of  Physics  In University Of Colombo the lunar eclipse will be ended at 8.29 p.m local time with the moon leaving the penumbral part of the eclipse.As the total time of the eclipse is 5 minutes it will be the shortest lunar eclipse in the 21st Century Professor Jayaratne has stressed.

The entire lunar eclipse will be visible to the people in North America,New Zealand,Australia and Eastern Asia he has said.

Thriposha Management Had Illegally Reinstated A Suspended Manageress

The new management of the Sri Lanka Thriposha Limited had illegally  reinstated the  Manageress of Human Resources and Law of the Thriposha Limited who  had faced a work suspension in her position while there's a disciplinary inquiry underway against her  for cheating lacks of Rupees belongs to the company health sources have  said.

The work of the said manageress was suspended  by the previous management of the Thriposha Limited on Last October due to  cheating lacks of Rupees belongs to the company the sources said. also the previous management had launched a disciplinary inquiry against her financial frauds.

when Contacted the current chairman of the Thriposha Limited Mr.Bandusena has confirmed  that the said manageress was reinstated on her position . If she found  guilty through the inquiry for cheating large sum of money belongs to the company disciplinary action will be taken against her he has stressed.

The Sri Lanka Thriposha Limited is a firm which makes nutritious food supplement Thriposha recommended for pregnant and lactating mothers and children under five years of age .


Previous Government Has Spent Millions Of Rupees Unnecessarily For Consultancy Work of Roads -Minister Kabir Hashim


During the making of  extension to the Southern Express Highway from Hambanthota to Matara Previous government had spent Rs.124 million per one kilo meter  for consultancy service alone alleged by the Minister Of Roads And Investment Promotions Kabir Hashim.


Also for Consultancy Work of Lunugamwehera-Kataragama Road Rs.255 million per Kilo Meter has been spent and another Rs.722 million per kilometer has been spent for the consultancy work  of alternative road made in Kegalle District in the view of reducing the motor traffic there Minister has stressed.

While addressing the media Minister Hashim has said that all these unnecessary spending of the Previous regime has to be considered as  an act of sin.

As the present government is handling the tender procedures properly when awarding tenders to build roads ,henchmen of the previous Rajapaksha regime are trying to criticize the development work currently underway Minister has further said.
