Four Top Police Officials Have Been Transferred On Service Requirements

Four Top Police Officials have been transferred with effect from today(28) on service requirements the Police Department has announced.

The top four police officials namely Director of Criminal Investigations Department(CID) SSP D.L.R Ranaweera,Director of Building Division SSP B.R.S.R Nagahamulla ,Director of Supplies Division SSP L.S Pathinayake,and SSP B.L.S Priyantha Weerasuriya  have been transferred as the Director of Research and Planning Division ,Director of the CID,Director Of Buildings Division and Director Of Supplies Division respectively.

Former Minister's Wife Arrested For Possessing A Fake Diplomatic Passport Released

The Wife of the Ex Minister Shashi Weerasinha who got arrested and imprisoned due to providing false personal details to possess a diplomatic passport has been granted bail today(27) by the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court.After considering the bail application produced by her lawyers the Chief Magistrate had released her on Rs.15,000 cash bail.

However shashi weerasinha has been ordered by the magistrate to be reported to the Court Registrar on every Friday as the case against her still proceeds and not to influencing any of the witnesses in the case.

CID Had Questioned Two Key Members Of The Previous Government Over Financial Frauds

The Criminal Investigations Department(CID) had questioned the former sports minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage and monitoring MP Sajin Vaas Gunawardena yesterday(25) for more than three hours over the allegations leveled against them on financial frauds it has been reported.

The two key members of the previous government have been asked to be present at CID next week also for further questioning on the allegations.Bribery Commission also had received bribery allegations against the said MP'S.

German Tourist Was Drowned At Beruwela Sea

A German Tourist was drowned  yesterday(25) while he was sea bathing  in Beruwela according to the police.A 73 year old tourist was reported as drowned when he was sea bathing near  Hotel Sumadai in beruwela where he resides in .

The Beruwela Police are investigating on the incident.

Due to this severe shortage of Antibiotic Drug,s patients in Government Hospitals are advised to be purchase these drugs from private pharmacies the sources have added.

The main reason behind this drug shortage is delay of calling tenders to purchase these drugs and the Director Board of the State Pharmaceutical Corporation is responsible for it the general secretary of the Government Pharmacists Union Ajith Thilakaratne has said.
