German Tourist Was Drowned At Beruwela Sea

A German Tourist was drowned  yesterday(25) while he was sea bathing  in Beruwela according to the police.A 73 year old tourist was reported as drowned when he was sea bathing near  Hotel Sumadai in beruwela where he resides in .

The Beruwela Police are investigating on the incident.

A Severe Shoratge Of Anti Biotic Drugs And Injections In Government Hospitals

Around 50 Anti Biotic Drugs and Injections including 35 essential ones are out of stock these days in Government Hospitals island wide and the Medical Supplies Division according to Health Sources.Various life saving drugs and drugs prescribe for severe illnesses are among the drugs which are out of stock Health Sources have revealed.

Due to this severe shortage of Antibiotic Drug,s patients in Government Hospitals are advised to be purchase these drugs from private pharmacies the sources have added.

The main reason behind this drug shortage is delay of calling tenders to purchase these drugs and the Director Board of the State Pharmaceutical Corporation is responsible for it the general secretary of the Government Pharmacists Union Ajith Thilakaratne has said.

Possessing A Fake Diplomatic Passport-Ex Minister's Wife Remanded Futher Until 04th Of March.

The Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya had today(25) ordered  ex minister wimal weerawansha's wife shashi weerasinha to be further remanded until 04th of March.Chief Magistrate had ordered her to remand further When the ex minister's wife who was imprisoned last Monday for submitting false personal details for possessing a diplomatic passport produced before the court.

Colombo Chief Magistrate Has Ordered Prison Authorities To Transfer Former Minister's Wife To Prison Hospital.


Colombo Chief Magistrate has today (24) ordered Prison Authorities to transfer wife of the former minister Shashi Weerawansha  who was arrested on last Sunday to the Prison Hospital .The chief magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya had also instructed the prison authorities to obtain a medical report from the chief medical officer of the prison hospital of her health and seek his advise whether there a need to admit shashi weerawansha to the Colombo,National Hospital.

Shashi Weerawansha who is the wife of former minister of Housing and Construction Wimal Weerawansha has been arrested by the CID for allegedly possessing a diplomatic passport by submitting false personal details.She was arrested at a private hospital in mallabe.
