Sri Lankan National Was Arrested At The Katunayake Air Port For Carrying Over Rs.7 Million Worth Currency Notes
A Sri Lankan National has been arrested at the Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Air Port early this morning while attempting to leave the country with over Rs.7 million worth currency notes wrapped in a carbon paper and concealed in his luggage.
The man who is a resident in Kandy was arrested at the departure lounge of the Air Port with 10 bundles of currency notes in his luggage including Euros,Yens and Sterling Ponds according to the Customs Officers.The suspect was prepared to board a Singapore Bound Flight UL306 at 1.10 a.m early this morning,

Heavy Showers exceeding 100 mili meters are likely to fall at some places in the Western,North Western and Sabaragamuwa Provinces and Galle and Matara Districts in coming days during afternoons and evenings according to the Meteorology Department.Showers are to be occurred in the Central,North Central and Northern Provinces and in Hambanthota District the department has said.

Special Presidential Commission To Be Appointed To Probe On Large Scale Fraud And Corruption
President Maithrpala Sirisena has decided to appoint a Special Presidential Commission to probe on Large Scale Fraud and Corruption occurred during the previous regime.The Special Commission is due to be appointed during next week.
The Commission will be given the power to investigate on Corruption and Fraud deals and to recommend punishments for those who are responsible for such acts President Sirisena has said.
The new government has already appointed a Anti Corruption Front to collect information and complaints on large scale financial malpractices.The said front has given power to audit all government institutions as well.
