Cabinet Approved The National Medicinal Drug Policy Draft Bill

The Cabinet has yesterday(04) approved the Draft Bill of the National Medicinal Drug Policy.The approved Medicinal Drug Policy is the second Drug Policy Draft Bill approved by the Cabinet since 2005.

The earlier Draft Bill was misplaced at the Legal Draftsman Office and a new draft bill of the Drug Policy was prepared after that incident.The new draft bill approved by the Cabinet will present to the Parliament shortly Cabinet Spokesman Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has said.

Cabinet Has Decided To Proceed With Colombo Port City Project

The Cabinet has decided to go ahead with the China Funded Colombo Port City  Project inaugurated by the previous government Cabinet Spokesman Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has said today(05).During the Presidential Elections Campaign,Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinha has said that they will stop the Colombo Port City Project due to the environmental threats and some corrupt deals occurred under the project.

President Maithripala Sirisena is scheduled to be discuss on the several questionable matters related to the project when he visits China on March Dr.Senaratne has stressed.

Four Were Killed And Another Two Critically Injured Due To A Cab-Train Collision

Four members of a same family were killed and another two persons got critically injured when the Cab they were traveled in collided with a train traveling from Colombo to Vvuniya at Batuwatta Main Railway Crossing today(04).

According to the Police the Father ,Two Sons and a Daughter of the same family have died from the accident while the mother and another daughter got injured and now receiving treatment at the Ragama Teaching Hospital.

Due to this accident Sri Lanka Railways have decided to halt train services in the Main Railway Line temporarily.

Express Highway Bus Fares Reduced

In view of the recent fuel price reduction the Bus Fares on the Southern and Colombo-Katunayake Express Highways have been reduced the National Transport Commission has announced.According to the price reduction the bus fare of the Kaduwela to Matara will be Rs.460 and Maharagama to Matara will be Rs.445.

The bus fare for Maharagama to Galle will be Rs.375 and Colombo to Katunayake Rs.110.
