Former General Secretary Of United National Party Tissa Attanayake Had Arrested And Remanded
Former General Secretary of the United National Party(UNP) and Health Minister MP Tissa Attanayake had been arrested by the Colombo Crimes Division this morning in Colombo for creating a fraud document with fake signatures of Current President Maithripala Siirsena and Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinha during the election campaign of the Presidential Elections.
After produced before the Colombo Fort Magistrate MP Attanayake was ordered to be remanded till 11th of February per the request made by Colombo Crimes Division Officers.

Parliament To Meet Tomorrow (02) For A Special Debate On Chief Justice Issue
The Speaker Chamal Rajapaksha has announced that the Parliament will meet at 2 P.M tomorrow(02) on a request made by the Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinha to conduct a special debate on the appointment and removal of the former Chief Justice Mohan Pieris.
A heated debate on the removal of Mohan Pieris from the Chief Justice Post took place in Parliament on Last Friday following the special statement made by the Prime Minister Wikaramasinha over the removal of Pieris.This lead the Opposition to make a special request for a debate on chief justice issue.
Government has already appointed the most senior judge in the Supreme Court K.Sripavan as the 44th Chief Justice following the retirement of 43rd Chief Justice Dr.Mrs.Shiranai Bandaranaike who was retired one day after reinstated in
the post. .

Sri Lankan Air Lines Hostess Was Killed And Three Others Injured On An Accident In Doha
A Sri Lankan Air Lines Air Hostess was killed and three other Sri Lankan Air Lines staff members, two flight attendants and an Air Hostess got injured when the vehicle they were traveled in on Desert Safari met with an accident in Doha,Qatar yesterday (30).
The Air Line Hostess that killed was identified as the Ms.Ammendra De Kauwe reside in Raddolugama ,Colombo.The injured Air Line Staff Members are reported as out of danger.There were six passengers including Ms.Kauwe onboard the Jeep at the time of the accident,

Most Senior Judge In The Supreme Court Sripavan Sworn In As New Chief Justice
The most senior judge in the Supreme Court K.Sripavan has sworn in as the new Chief Justice in Sri Lanka before President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat this evening.The New Chief Justice was appointed after the 43rd Chief Justice Dr.Mrs,Shirani Bandaranaike's has retired from the post yesterday almost one day after she was reinstated as the Chief Justice.
Chief Justice Sripavan was an old boy of Jaffna Hindu Collage.President Maithripala Sirisena was sworn in his post before him on 10th of January soon after elected as the new president of Sri Lanka.
Former Chief Justice Dr.Shirani Bandaranaike was given a grand farewell by lawyers and staff of the Hulftsdorf Court Complex yesterday as she retired from the post at the age of 56.
