Twenty Nine Foreign Diplomats Recalled -Fresh Appointments To Be Made

The Government has recalled around 29 Foreign  Diplomats who were political appointees  to  the country with immediate effect.According to the Ministry Of External Affairs most of these Diplomats are relatives and close associates who did not even meet required qualification to be in foreign service.

Even these diplomats not even aware of Sri Lankans lives in those countries and the problems they are facing and do not know even Diaspora  People it has been revealed.Some Diplomats served their appointments as foreign tours it has been reported.

CID Has Recorded A Statement From Chief Justice On The Alleged Coup Attempt

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has today (23) recorded a statement  from the Chief Justice Mohan Pieris over the alleged coup attempt  said to be involved by some leaders of the previous  government in the early morning of 09th of January during the releasing of elections results .

The Chief Justice who was asked by the current government to step down from his post has also charged  as present at the  Temple Trees that time when the coup attempt has taken place according to the complaint made by Foreign Minister Managala Samaraweera to the CID.

Government Leaders And Ministers To Avoid Purchasing New Vehicles

The new Cabinet Of Ministers have decided not to purchase any new vehicle this year for the use of President,Prime Minister and Cabinet Ministers  the Cabinet Spokesman and Minister Of Health and Indigenous Medicine Dr.Rajitha Seneratne has said.

The Cabinet of the present government which meet last Wednesday (21) for the first time has decided this he has stated.The Ministers have decided to use the vehicles used by former Cabinet .

Private Bus Owners To Reduce Bus Fares

The Lanka Private Bus Owners Association has decided to reduce the Bus Fares by 7-8% with a minimum fare of Rs.8 according to the President of the Association Gamunu Wijerathne.The Private Bus Owners have decided to reduce the Bus Fares following the price reduction of fuel implemented by the Government .

This is the first time that the Bus Fares have been reduced since the year 2013.

President Sirisena Has Reinstated The General Ranking Of Former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka

President Maithripala Sirisena has today (21)instructed the authorities to drop all charges against the former Army Commander and the leader of Democratic Party Sarath Fonseka who has  guided Sri Lanka Armed Forces to the victory against LTTE Terrorism in 2009   and reinstate his  Army General Post.Former Army Commander General Fonseka  has lost all his Army Rankings and civic rights and was imprisoned by the former President Mahinda Rajapaksha  soon after the 2010 Presidential Elections as he has contested against former President.

General Fonseka is currently serving as the Adviser to the President Sirisena on National Security is likely to be appointed as either Minister Of Defense or the  Defense Secretary  according to the sources.His Parliamentary Seat which he has lost due to the false charges filed against him in military and civilian courts by the former regime too is scheduled to be given to him sources have added.

Private Bus Owners Association To Reduce Bus Fares

The Lanka Private Bus Owners Association has today announced that the Association has decided to reduce the bus fares in keeping with the latest fuel price reductions.The Bus Fare reductions will be made after calculation according to a formula the President of the Private Bus Owners Association Gamunu Wijeratne has said.

The Bus Fares have not been reduced during last year since it was increased in 2013.
