No One Arrested On Vinu Wettimuny's Murder Case

Although Sri Lankan Actress Vinu Wetimuny was murdered at her home almost a week ago  Local Police still not able to arrest anyone regarding the murder sources said.Police already appointed two investigation Teams to conduct an inquiary on the murder of the Actress.

Police have supected three persons who came to the Actress Wettimuny's house on 15 th of february for her murder.

CID Arrested Two Cricket Secretariat Employees Selling World Cup Tickets For Black Market Prices

The Colombo Crimes Division(CID)  today arrested two employees attached to the Sri Lankan World Cup Cricket Secretariat while they are engaged in selling Rs.50 worth World Cup tickets issue for the forth coming Cricket Match between Sri Lanka and Pakistan for  black market prices  Ranging Rs.1300 and Rs.1500.

The arrested Cricket Secretariat Employees are currently been questioning by the CID  under the detention orders and due to be produced before the court soon.

Meanwhile the Sri Lankan World Cup Cricket Secretariat Today has announced that the all tickets for the World Cup Cricket Matches Played in Sri Lanka were sold out,

Lanka Hospital Confirmed Assaulted MP Upeksha Admitted For A Surgery


Lanka  Hospitals(formally Apollo Hospital) has today (24) confirmed that the assaulted Popular Actress and MP Upeksha Swarnamali(Paba)  has transferred to the Hospital from Jayawardanapura Hospital to under go a Plastic Surgery.According to the Hospital Sources it's not a major surgery and MP Upeksha also underwent MRI Scan test two days ago at the Lanka Hospital.


She is receiving hospital treatment for facial and eye injuries since last Wednesday(16th) following the assault by her husband.

Sri Lankan Government has sent a ship to evacuate the Sri Lankan Workers stranded in Libya,Egypt and other Middle Eastern Countries which are having political unrest conditions according to the Cabinet Spokesman.The Ship will evacuate the Stranded Sri Lankans as their wish the spokesman said during today's Cabinet Briefing.

Meanwhile the Ministry Of External Affairs is constantly in touch with the Libyan Mission in Colombo regarding the situation of Sri Lankans reside in that country it has been reported.

Assaulted MP Upeksha Swarnamali(PABA)Transferred To A Private Hospital To Undergo A Plastic Surgery


Assaulted Popular Local Actress and MP Upeksha Swarnamali has been  transferred to Lanka Hospitals(PVT) formally the Apollo Hospital   in Narahenpita -Colombo today(23) from the Sri  Jayawardenapura Hospital in Kotte to undergo  a Plastic Surgery  according to the Hospital Sources.Doctors at the Jayawardenapura Hospital who treated her for facial injuries had reported  as approved the Plastic Surgery as her wish the sources further added.

MP Upeksha who is widely popular  here as "Paba"was severely assaulted by her husband Mahesh Chaminda on 15th of February following a family dispute and admitted to the Jayawardenapura Hospital by the Ministerial Security Personal  where she was treated for facial and eye injuries.She has reported as having  few bruises in her body too.She received treatment under the supervision of a Neuro Specialist of the Jayawardenapura Hospital.

Sri Lankan External Affairs Ministry Ensured The Security Of Sri Lankans In Libya And Egypt

The Ministry of External Affairs has stated today that the security and safety of the Sri Lankans lives in the troubled Libya and Egypt are ensured and arrangements can make  to evacuate  them if need arise.

According to Ministry there are around 1200 Sri Lankan Workers reside in Libya alone.
