Wounded And Pregnant Mothers Facing Difficulties Due To The Shortage Of Two Essential Injections


Wounded Persons including Army Soldiers as well as Pregnant Mothers Are Facing Enormous Difficulties due to the Shortage of Two Essential Pain Killer Injections "Morphine" and "Pethidine" in Government Hospitals These Days.These Injections are Out Of Stock in Government Hospitals Since Two Weeks and Health Minister is Not taken any Measure to Provide these for at least for the use of Wounded Soldiers in the Battle Front says the Dr.Gishantha Dassanayaka the President of the All Ceylon Government Doctors Association.
According to the Doctors Injection Vial Pethidine is Out Of Stock due to Removal of Stock of the Item available in Hospitals After they were Found Expired.Director General Of Health Services is the Sole Authorizing Officer for Importing these Essential Injections and when Contacted he says that a New Stock of Injection "Pethidine" will be Air Lifted To the Hospitals Shortly.

Govt.To Privatize The Medical Education By Allowing A Private Medical Collage Here Inter Medical Faculty Union Charged


Government is Trying to Privatizing the Medical Education by Giving Permission to Set Up Private Medical Collage in Malabe Area The Medical Faculty Inter Student Action Committee Charged To Day .Government Already Gave Permission to the New Private Medical Collage Set Up with the Collaboration from a Russian Medical Academy the Convener of the Committee Asanga Said .The Medical Faculty Inter Students Action Committee is Planning to Launched Protest Campaign against these Private Medical Collage He Says.
The Five Year Course Designed by this Medical Collage is to begin this September and the Collage already Called Applications to Recruiting Acadamic Staff He Stressed.
A student who wishes to Study under this Programme have to spend Rs.5 Million and He/She have to Study Four Years in Sri Lanka and the Final Year in Russia He Further Added.
