Sri Lankan Ace Sprinter And Olympic Bronze Medelist Susanthika Jayasinha Informed the President Mahinda Rajapaksha To Day That She is Retiring from Athletics.Susanthika won the Bronze Medel for the 200 Meters Known as Her Pet Event at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and became the Second Sri Lankan to Win a Medal at a Olympics Since 1948.
Hailing from a Remote Village of "Athnawala" in the Hill Country Susanthika Won the Silver Medal at the International Athlatic Federation's World Athlatic Meat At Athens in Greece on 1992.Also She Got Many International And Local Medals and Awards To Her Credit.

Co-Chairs Urged LTTE To Lay Down Arms And Discuss With The Government
The Tokyo Co-Chairs of the Sri Lankan Peace Process Norway,Japan,United States and the European Union To Day Calls on LTTE To lay down Arms and Enter Discussions with the Government and to Accept Government Offer of Amnesty.They Also Asked the LTTE to Participate as a Political Party and Try to achieve a Just and Long Lasting Political Solution to The Conflict.Also Co-Chairs Appealed From Both the Government and the LTTE to Respect International Humanitarian Law.
Regarding the Civilians Trapped in the North Due to the On going Battle Co Chairs Express their Concern on them and Asked Both the Government and the LTTE to Declare a No Fire Period to helping the Evacuation of Sick and Wounded Civilians from the Battle Zone.
