Co-Chairs Urged LTTE To Lay Down Arms And Discuss With The Government
The Tokyo Co-Chairs of the Sri Lankan Peace Process Norway,Japan,United States and the European Union To Day Calls on LTTE To lay down Arms and Enter Discussions with the Government and to Accept Government Offer of Amnesty.They Also Asked the LTTE to Participate as a Political Party and Try to achieve a Just and Long Lasting Political Solution to The Conflict.Also Co-Chairs Appealed From Both the Government and the LTTE to Respect International Humanitarian Law.
Regarding the Civilians Trapped in the North Due to the On going Battle Co Chairs Express their Concern on them and Asked Both the Government and the LTTE to Declare a No Fire Period to helping the Evacuation of Sick and Wounded Civilians from the Battle Zone.

Health Secretary Dr Athula Kahanda Liyange To Day appealed to the International Red Cross Society from a Written Letter to Make a Request to the LTTE To Allow the Civilians,and Patients Trapped inside the Rebel Hold Areas To Return to the Cleared Areas Through the Safety Passage .Health Secretary Made this appeal After the provincial Health Directors of Mulativue and Kilinochchi Requests Him to Do So.
