Prices Of Milk Powder To Be Reduced From Today


The Prices Of 400 Grammes and 1 kilo Milk Powder Packs will Reduced with the Effect from Today(15) Consumer Affairs Minister Bandula Gunawardana said.According to the New Revised Prices A Price of a 400 Grammes Milk Powder Pack will Reduced by Rs.15 and 1 kilo Pack will Reduced by Rs.50.

Cancer Hospital Nurses Temporaraly Halt Their Trade Union Action And Resumed Chemo Therapy Treatment


Nursing Staff of the Cancer Hospital,Maharagama who are stopped Performing Chemo Therapy Treatment For Patients since Last Wednesday(10) Temporarily Suspend their Action Till Tomorrow Evening (16) Cancer Hospital Sources said .This was due to the Discussion offered to them By the Health Secretary tomorrow to Announce the Solutions given to their Demands.Due to the Halt of the Trade Union Action Chemo Therapy Treatment to the Indoor Patients in the Cancer Hospital Resumed This evening after Five Days Hospital Sources said.However According to the Nursing Unions this Action is halt till the End of tomorrow's Discussion.This Discussion is Scheduled to be Held on 4 P.m Tomorrow at the Ministry Of Health with the participation of the Representatives of The Cancer Hospital Nursing Staff and the Nursing Unions. In an Earlier Development Health Ministry canceled the Proposed Meeting with the Cancer Hospital Nursing Staff in last minute Scheduled to be held This Evening .Giving No Particuler Reason For the Cancellation of the Discussion Health Secretary Dr.Athula Kahanda Liyanage Says that There is no need to Discuss the Demands of the Cancer Hospital Nurses further as the Ministry has Already Gave Solutions to their demands.However the Solutions will be Discussed during the reschedule Meeting held in Tomorrow He stressed.
Meanwhile The President of the Health Services Trade Union Alliance(HSTUA) Saman Rathnapriya Said that the Cancellation of the Proposed Discussion on Nurses Demands Proved that the Health Ministry Is Paying little Attention to solve the Chemo Threrapy Issue and the Lives of the Cancer Patients Who are in Danger due to to not Receiving the Chemo Therapy Treatment as a Result of the Nurses Trade Union Action.The Chemo Therapy Treatment Not Given to both Indoor and Outdoor Cancer Patients for the Sixth Day This Evening (15)According to the Hospital Sources.

Chemo Therapy Issue-Health Ministry To Meet The Demands Of The Cancer Hospital Nurses


As the Trade Union Action Of the Cancer Hospital Nurses On Stop Performing the Chemo Therapy Treatment On Patients Has entered it's Fifth Day The Ministry Of Health Today(14)Decided To Implement A Proper Training Programme For The Nursing Staff Of The Cancer Hospital On Chemo Therapy Treatment and to Create a Safety Environment In the Cancer Hospital for This Treatment as Demanded by them.Under This the ministry will Implement a Training Programme On Chemo Therapy with the Assistance from the World Health Organaization and also Decided to Build a Unit For Storing and Issuing Chemo Therapy Injections and Issuing Safety Masks For the Nursing Staff Involved in this Treatment Health Secretary Dr.Athula Kahanda Liyanage said."We already sent Our decision to the Salary and Census Commission Seeking the Approval to Increase the Risk Allowance paid to The Health Staff Of The Cancer Hospital Involve in Chemo Therapy From Rs 500 to Rs.3000" He stressed.Health Secretary also Said that Tomorrow he will Inform The Cancer Hospital Nursing Staff on These Decisions.
Meanwhile The Trade Union Action of the Cancer Hospital Nursing Staff Entered it's Fifth Day Today as They Didn't Perform Chemo Therapy Treatment For the Cancer Patients.

Chemo Therapy Issue-Nurses Of the Cancer Hospital Want Health Ministry To Meet Their Demands In Proper Way


The Nursing Staff of the Maharagama Cancer Hospital who stopped performing Chemo Therapy Treatment for the Cancer Patients said that if the Health Ministry Agrees to Implement a Programme to Give them Proper Training On Chemotherapy Treatment and Providing them Safety Kits to Avoid infecting Radiation they will Resume the performing of the Treatment.Health Ministry only Pay Attention for the Paying of Risk Allowance and not the Above Demands A Senior Nursing Official says.Around 327 Nurses at the Cancer Hospital Away from the Chemo Therapy Treatment for the Third Day today(12) leaving 400-500 Cancer Patients are at Risk of Developing their Cancers Hospital Sources said.Meanwhile The Health Secretary Dr.Athula Kahanda Liyanage Said that A Meeting is Arranged with the Nursing Staff Representatives of the Cancer Hospital and the Nursing Unions On this Monday at The Ministry Of Health Regarding their Demands.

Nursing Staff Of The Maharagama Cancer Hospital Stopped Chemo Therapy Treatment-Large Number Of Cancer Patients Are In Danger


The Nursing Staff Of the Maharagama Cancer Hospital the only State Owned Cancer Hospital in Sri Lanka Stopped performing Chemo Therapy Treatment for the Cancer Patients Since Yesterday and the lives of 400 to 500 Cancer Patients Receiving this Treatment are in Danger Due to this Hospital Sources said.Nursing Staff Stopped Performing Chemo Therapy Treatment Demanding giving them a Proper Training on this Treatment and Introduce a Special Security System on this Therapy A Senior Nursing Officer said."We are Demanding these From the Health Ministry within the last twelve years but Ministry Authorities Continuously Failed to Meet our Demands.So we have no other option then Going for this Action" He further Added.
Due to The Nursing Officers Trade Union Action Large Number of Outdoor and Indoor Patients are Suffering Hospital Authorities said.Meanwhile Some Trade Unions said the Nursing Staff who are in the Trade Union Action Demands Rs 10,000 Risk Allowance which they Did not mention openly.However Ministry Of Health Today Said that the Rs 500 Risk Allowance Paid to the Some of the Nursing Staff of the Cancer Hospital is Increased to Rs.3000 and all the Health Staff Involve in this Trearment WILL receive this.But the Nursing Officers of The Cancer Hospital said that the Ministry Officials Promised this Increased Allowance Three Months ago But the Authorities Still failed to Issue a Circular Regarding this Increased Allowance Up to Date.
