Around Six Million Patients Annually Receiving Treatment From Government Hospitals-Ministry Of Health

Around 6 Million Patients have been annually receiving treatment from Sri Lankan Government Hospitals according to Ministry Of Health,Nutrition And Indigenous Medicine.

Out of this number Around 4.8 Million Patients have been receiving treatment from Emergency  Treatment Units attach to hospitals the Ministry has said.

Ministry Of Health has decided to establish Emergency Treatment Units and Blood Banks in every District Hospital by considering the demand for these units.

Three High Rank Customs Officers Who Were Arrested And Remanded For Accepting Rs.125 Million Bribe Were Further Remanded

The three High Rank Customs Officers who were arrested and remanded for accepting Rs.125 Million as a Bribe form a Businessman Have Been further remanded by the  Colombo  Chief Magistrate up to 25 th of November .

When the case was taken up for hearing today(13) The Lawyers representing behalf of  the accused Customs Officers had requested from the court to release the suspects on bail ,However the Bribery Commission has opposing it by stating their release on bail will hinder ongoing investigations of the Bribery Case.

Commercial High Court Of Colombo Has Issued Notices For Former President Mahinda Rajapaksha And Six Others To Appear Before Court On 10th Of March

The Commercial High Court Of  Colombo today(13) has issued notices to Former President Mahinda Rajapaksha and Six Others to appear before the Court on 10th Of March regarding a case filed against them over not making payments For Sri Lanka Transport Board(SLTB) for Buses Hired for Election Rallies conducted  during this year's Presidential Election.

The Sri Lanka Transport Board has filed a Case in Commercial High Court Of Colombo by claiming previous United Peoples Freedom Alliance(UPFA) Government not paying  Rs.140 Million to SLTB for hiring buses during the Presidential Election.

The Former UPFA General Secretary Susil Premjayantha and Former Sri Lanka Freedom Party(SLFP) Secretary Anura Priyadarshana Yapa both of whom are currently functioning as Ministers of Present Government were also among the accused issued notices today regarding the case .

Postal Services Have Been Disrupted.Today (13) Due To The Island Wide Sick Note Campaign Launched By Postal Workers

Due to the 24 hour Island Wide Sick Note Campaign  launched by Postal Department Trade Unions since midnight yesterday(12) all postal services throughout the island have been disrupted today (13)  Postal Department Sources said..

According to Joint Federation Of Postal Services Union the Postal Workers had submitted  Sick Notes since midnight yesterday by demanding several issues including Promotions and Employing Of Workers.

The Joint Federation has also staged a "Satyagraha" in front of Postal Department this morn ing by demanding solutions for their  demands.

Four Mail Trains On The Northern Railway Line Have Been Cancelled Due To A Derailment-Department Of Railways

According to Department Of Railways Four Mail Trains on the Northern Railway Line have been cancelled today(12) due to a derailment of a Train near  Thambutthegama Rail Way Station this morning.

The Colombo Fort to Kankasanthurai and Talaimannar To Colombo Fort mail trains were cancelled due to the derailment of the train.

Sri LanKan Navy To Take Over All The Weapons Stored At Avant Garde Floating Armory From Tomorrow(13)

Sri Lankan Navy is due to be taken over all the weapons stored at Avant Garde Floating Armory which is currently anchored at Galle Harbor according to the Navy.

Navy is due to be taken over the weapons at floating armory per the decision taken by President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday (11) to cancel all the agreements signed between Avant Garde Maritime  Services Private Limited and Government to handover all operations of Avant Garde Floating Armory to Navy according to the Navy Sources.

The sources also said the weapons stored at Floating Armory in Galle Harbor are due to be taken to Southern Naval Base per the instructions of Defense Secretary.
