Right To Information Bill To Be Presented To The Parliament In Next January

The Right To Information Bill is scheduled to be presented to the Parliament in next January according to the Government Information Department.

The Right To Information Bill will be an act provide for the right to information, specify grounds on which access may be denied.

Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe has earlier informed the Parliament that Cabinet had approved the Right To Information Bill.

A group of residents in Meethotamulla Area(In Colombo) who have protested against the Garbage Disposal Site in the area yesterday (26)have been attacked by an  unknown persons according to protesters.

The Protesters have said that due to the  smell  of Garbage Site in Meethotamulle a serious health problems may have occurred among the residents of the area.

Police Have Filed Court Cases Against 420 Drunken Drivers From 23-27 th Of December

During the period 23rd to 27th of December ,The Police have filed Legal Cases in Courts against 420 Drunken Drivers according to reports.

During the raids carried out  throughout the Island within 24 hour period from 6 a.m on 26th of December to 6 a.m on 27th of December Police have filed court cases against 114 Drunken Drivers the reports have stated.

Police have launched a special mission throughout the island from 23rd of December to minimize the Road Accidents.

Daham Pasal Teachers To Be Appointed As Justice Of Peace From Next Year-President Sirisene

The Dhaham Pasal(Buddhism Religious Classes) Teachers who are having more than Ten Years Experience will be appointed as Justice Of Peace with effect from next year according to President Maithripala Sirisene.

President Sirisene has revealed this at a meeting held today(27).
