A Fire Erupted In A Garbage Dump In Grand pass Brought Under x

A Sudden fire erupted in a Garbage
Dump at Madampitiya ,Grand pass this evening  (18) had  brought under control according to The Colombo  Fire services Departmemt.

Accordingly four fire trucks with firefighters had sent to the site and the fire was brought under control  later .The cause of fire has not yet been revealed.

A Boat Carrying Six Local Fishermen Toppled Over

fishermen had toppled over in middle of the sea after leaving the Pattiyawaraya in WandurupPa area ,Ambalanthota this morning (19) .

However a fishermen had swan lĺtowards ashore and manages to rescue other five fishermen it has been revealed.

The incident occurred due to strong winds it has been revealed.

All six fishermen had received minor injuries and the fisheries equipment and their boat too got damaged due to the incident .

Five Sri Lankan Businessmen Arrested Along With 1464 Cigarette Cartons

Customs had today arrested 05 Kurunagala Based Sri Lankan Businessmen who had attempted to smuggle 1464 Cigarette Cartons containing 292.800 Cigarette sticks  illegally to The country at Katunayake International Airport today  (18).

Customs officers earlier recovered 642 Cigarette Cartons with 128,400 cigarette sticks stored inside the 06  luggages  of 05 Sri Lankan Businessmen who are of the ages 30-42 years .

Afterwards during a search operation carried out Customs officers recovered another stock of 822 Cigarette Cartons stored inside of another 13 luggages left near the Arrival Lounge of the Airport .

The five suspects had arrived in Sri Lanka from Dubai via Emirates Flight .

The estimated value of the stock of Cigarette Cartons taken in to custody is around Rs.10.75 million .
