Owner Of The Company Which Undertook The Renovation Work Ofate

The owner of the Company which undertook the drenovation work of the old warehouse building
belongs to the two leading Rubber and Tea Export companies which collapsed yesterday (14) was surrendered to the Grandpass Police today (15).

Around 07 persons were killed and one injured and

hospitalized due to the Building which was located in Dr.Brito Fernandopulle road in Grandpass was collapsed yesterday.

There were 20 persons inside the Building at the time of the incident.

The Deadline Given To Former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran To Appear Before CID Has Expired

The time period given to the former Central Bank

governor Arjun Mahendran who is now in Singapore to appear before the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to give evidance on Central Bank Bond Scam has ended today (15).

Colombo Fort Magistrate Court has issued summons on 05th of February to The Arjun Mahendran who is one of the suspects of the Bond Scam issue to appear before CID on or before 15th of February.

The Conveners Of Inter University Students And Bhikku Federations Were Remanded Over Violating Court Orders

The convener of the Inter University Students

Federation Lahiru Weerasekare and the convener of the Inter University Bhikku Federation Venerable Tampitiye Sugathananda Thero were today (15) remanded until 28th of February by the Colombo Fort Magistrate Cpurt over conducting a protest march in Colombo on 25th of January by violating the court order issued against the protest.

The two conveners were remanded after they were appearing before the court to face another court case today .The two suspects were remanded after police have produced facts against them .

A Female Was Injured Due To A Gun Shooting Incident In Modara

A 47 year old female was injured and hospitalized due

to a gun shooting incident in Modara wella,Colombo this evening (15).

The injured who was shot while sitting on a bund located in front of a trade stall ,admitted to the Colombo National Hospital for treatment.

A 28 year old gunman arrived in from a Motor Car shot at the female and fled away from the area it has been reported.

The female received injuries to her chest and a leg and Police suspected that a personal conflict may bd behind the gun shooting incident.

Modara Police have launched a search operation to arrest the gunman .
