Cabinet Approved A Proposal To Revise Electricity Tarrifs
Cabinet had approved a proposal to revise the Electricity tariffs every three months according to Government sources.
AAccording to the Excisting General Policy guidelines electricity tariffs need to be reviewed every six months .The proposal is against the guidelines trade unions had stated.
A Tourist Hotell Employee Was Shot And Injured In Ella Area
A Tourist Hotel employee in Ella area (Badulla) was injured and hospitalized due to a gun shooting incident occurred in the hotel yesterday(31) it has been reported.A gunman arrived in a Motorcycle had fired a gun shot towards the employee and fled away from.the scene according to the Police.

PHI"s To Launch A Two Day Island Wide From Today(30) Strike
Public Health Inspectors are due to launch a two day Island wide strike action on today(Monday) and tomorrow (Tuesday) over demanding solutions for several of their service demands according to the Public Health Inspectors Union.

Navy Had Arrested Two Persons With 104 KG Of Kerala Cannabies
Sri Lanka Navy had arrested two persons over keeping in possession of 104 Kilo Grammes of Kerala Cannabies at Vaddukoddai area in Jaffna(Northern province) yesterday (29).
Accordingly the two suspects were arrested whilst transporting the haul of Kerala cannabies packed in 50 parcels in three gunny sacks in a Three wheeler the Navy had stated.
The street value of the consignment of narcotics is believed to be around Rs.41 million.The Navy Officers had handed over the stock of Kerala cannabies,along with the two suspects of the ages 25 and 40 years to Vaddukoddai police for a legal action.
Former Police DIG Arrested Over Causing A Vehicle Collision At Marine Drive
The former Senior Deouty Inspector General Of Police (Retired ) Ravi Seneviratne was arrested by the Police at Msrine Drive in Bambalapitiya over causing a multiple vehicle collision whilst driving his under the influence of liquor. (28).

Twenty Three Were Injured and Hospitalized Due To A Fire In Pettah
Around twenty three persons were received burn injuries and hospitalized six in a critical condition due to a fire broken out at a five storied retail apperal shop building in second cross street in Pettah(colombo) this morning (27) .
The injured were admitted to the Accident service of the Colombo National Hospital for treatment and six of the injured had been admitted to the Intensive care unit (ICU) of the Accident service it has been revealed.Ninteen of the injured including 11 males,and 08 females were still in the wards receiving treatment .The Colombo fire brigade had deployed 11 fire trucks to contain the blaze and the fire fighters had taken more than two hours to douse the fire according to reports.Sri lanka Army,Sirforce and Police had helped the fire fighters in this regard.
According to the authorities the fire was occurred due to an electric generater caught fire when an attempt was made to burn coconut husks using petrol .

Sri Lanka Navy And Police Arrested Five Persons Over Transporting A Haul Of Heroin From A Trawler
Sri Lanka Navy and Police narcotic bureau had arrested five persons along with a multiday fishing trawler over transporting 212 Kilo grammes of Heroin at West of Galle district yesterday (23).
The trawler boat carrying the haul of heroin was heading to a foreign country at the time of the incident it has been revealed .According to the Navy the street value of the haul of Heroin taken into custody is estimated as over Rs.4 billion.The haul of heroin along with the suspecta and the trawler were handed over to the Police narcotic bureau for a legal action.

Speaker Appointed A Committee To Probe The Clash Between Two Parliamentarians
The Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana had appointed a five member committee headed by the Deputy Speaker Ajith Rajapakshe to probe on the clash occurred between the State Minister Diana Gamage and Samagi Janabalawegaya(SJB) MP Of Anuradhapura district Rohana Bandara outside the Parliament premises yesterday (20).

The Veteran Popular traditional local dancer and Teacher of Dancing Kalasuri, Vishwakalakeerthi Rajini Selvanayagam passed away last morning (20) .

The water levels of the Mahaweli reservoirs had increased to 46 percent by yesterday( 18)due to the heavy showers experienced in the country at present according to the Mahaweli Authority.

A student of the President's Primary Collage at Wijerama road,Maharagama was njured and hospitalized after an insecure high wall belongs to a house of a popular local singer nearby collapsed over him whilst at the school yesterday (17).
